Hey Guys, We're back in New Zealand tonight, soaring the Omarama wave! Thanks Nick Oakley (OWN) for making the task. The conditions are modeled to be as realistic as possible. Probably the biggest challenge of the task is transitioning into the wave at the start. Since many pilots haven't flown...

ATTENTION PROCRASTINATORS - SSA CONTEST RULES COMMITTEE POLL AND ELECTION by Dave Walsh
Brilliant Mk VIII description & video and I just love the quote: - "No solution is too complicated for a Lange glider, right Axel". But the MkVIII itself clearly need to be updated, I mean using actual panel switches is so last century: what's wrong with voice actuation? Surely modern software...

New book with prewar gliding stories by xcnick
I am promoting a book with stories about gliding in Germany and England in the late '30s. However the point of this obvious spam is to benefit the ATA museum at Maidenhead. The entire 11 pounds will be theirs if you buy from...

Chuckle by [email protected]
Given: the MK IV yaw string is a fine product. However, the Gallagher in me chuckles with the realization one of the recent most popular RAS topics regards installing or replacing a string. This post makes 54...and surely more to come. Seemingly a topic for the next Soaring Symposium. Ben

Saturday, December 7 Ridge Day by Papa3[_2_]
Looks like a gentle ridge day for the northern part of the ridge system. Limited to PA/NJ/NY from the looks of the GFS model runs. Winds are actually better on Friday, but as of now looks like it stays wet for most of the day.

US ELT installation issues for 2006 contests - clarification?? by Peter Deane
Hi folks, Reading through some previous emails on this leaves me a little confused; Here's what I *think* I understand; 1 Experimental gliders; ELT does not need to be TSO'd, owner install OK but need A&P signoff (minor modification, not maintenance)
