Commercial - New LX7007 by Paul Remde
Hi, LX Navigation will soon begin shipping the new LX7007 Pro IGC flight computer. I expect the first units to arrive sometime in July. The LX7007 Pro IGC is the newest version of what was previously the LX7000 Pro IGC. The new version offers a faster processor, more memory (I think) for...

Potential Club Class (US Sports Class) World Team SelectionPolicy Changes by JS
We see a few pilots in this discussion who have admirably bought a Club Class glider specifically to compete in Club Class. Some have no other glider. What an awful thing to scold them. Sean, great flight at the Dust Devil Dash in weak conditions, by the way. I had a great time working at the...

Inter-thermal cruise speeds? by Frank[_1_]
I'm curious what others are using for inter-thermal cruise speeds for modern 15m (and 18m I guess) gliders like the Ventus 2bx, Ventus 2cx, ASW-27, ASG-29, Diana 2, etc (add models as necessary). Here in the U.S. we have been moving toward cruise speeds much lower than would normally be dictated...

ASK-21 Weight and Balance by Carl Baxter
I'm trying to make sense of the weight and balance section in the ASK-21 manual but having no success. They give an equation for r sub R, which I assume is the empty CG, but it's not specifically called out. The units don't balance; there is length on one side of the equation and length squared...

Windows XP & soaring by C.Fleming
Does anybody with Windows XP have difficulty running any soaring software? Does any software not run on XP? Specifically: Does WinPilot work on XP? I'm going to upgrade my OS soon, and I don't want to get stuck with one incompatible with future software purchases! Chris

high tow vs low tow by Steve Koerner
As a US pilot, I've flown low tow a few times but mostly just high tow as that is the convention here. I'm wondering what all of the trade-offs are by the two methods? Might it be time to reconsider this? As pointed out on another thread, low tow would seem to be safer against the problem of...

Flarm by Mal
From my reading of flarm and my limited knowledge about the product. I understand that you could in theory have the location of other gliders on screen and use it to your advantage during a competition given that it transmits such data? www.flarm.com
