JS[_5_]
40 degrees C, dust devils everywhere. Sarah won practce 1 (no she doesn't feel superstitious about it) and has taken the day off.
Sylvia and Kathy are on task. They left Mt. Kaputar and now out in the flat lands.
Will says the US team Instagram is

There's also an octothorpe.

Interference between instruments by

Linking a couple of recent threads: Connecting multiple varios and how to change ASI markings....
I discovered the reason for a flight computer's inconsistent readings was the bezel on the ASI not being tight enough to seal. Snugging it up resulted in a more accurate ASI and flight...

10k Flights by
JS[_5_]
Today at Mountain Valley Airport, Tehachapi, California there were about 18 10k flights! Weather was 66F/19C and sunny, but no real lift.
Five of the flights were in three sport canopy equipped 1-26s participating in the annual Open Cockpit Regatta. We'll get some up on OLC.

Waikerie by

Yesterday (Friday, 19th) was the last day of the Australian Multi-Class Nationals, and a great day to end it on. There were climbs to 14,000' (field elevation a couple of hundred) and fast cruises.
I stayed up until midnight watching the finishes on gtrack.
It was an area task, which is not as easy...

soaring wx books? by
jt
Looking for soaring weather books, especially a self published one by
a senior US weather forecaster / sailplane pilot that I used to have.
Was informal and not too technical, yet pragmatic and leading edge in
terms of his speculative theories. Anything like it available? thanks
