Ventus fuselage sizes by Ron Gleason
The Schempp-Hirth web sites does not have information on the Ventus 2 anymore. Looking for numerical data on the cockpit sizing differences between the Ventus 2 A model, CXA, B(X) and C and CX. I am selling my 2CX and a tall pilot is trying it on for size and is interested in understanding the...

Ventus Panel upgrade by Fish
Hi, Can anyone tell me if a Ventus 2C panel will fit in a Ventus C tilt panel installation with little or no modification? Also, if someone has a DXF, CAD, DWG file whatever, of either of these I'd be very greatful for a copy. Cheers Fish

Ventus rigging advice, please? by John McLaughlin
I've recently started flying a Ventus2. I can't rig the thing without a lot of struggle. The trouble is, there's a cover above the spars and you can't see anything once the first wing is in. I struggle to get the second wing to fit, never knowing whether it's a bit too high or a bit too low....

Ventus Rudder Cables by [email protected]
Recently acquired a Ventus Bt that may need the rudder cables replaced. Are the cables available from the dealer or factory? Or can they be made up by an AI/AP? Are there tricks for doing the replacement?

Does anyone know a US source for the solid-tire tailwheel of a 2003 Ventus 2cxm (steerable)? Its marked Downey California, but the maker's name is worn away.

Ventus TN 349-42 by Stuart Venters
As part of annual, I just found this newish TN regarding corrosion in the flaperon inside the wing linkage. (No corresponding AD.) I looked inside with a USB camera and saw some minor stuff. Definitely will re-lube. I'm curious what folks are seeing with this and if they are adding access...

Ventus/Discus proposed AD for elevator? by Stewart Kissel
Ran into my friendly A+P, AI today. While checking for current/proposed AD's for my upcoming annual, he said he saw a proposed AD for mass ballast from Schemp-Hirth. I have not heard of this, and will start googling as soon as I post to ras.

VentusB retro Tailtank information by Stewart Kissel
Does anyone know if this was a 'standard' retrofit? The rubber bellows in my tank is shot...and I have no idea where to find a replacement. My ship has no record when the tank was added, the install appears to be quite clean. The bellows has a 90 degree turn in it from the tank to the dump valve....

Verifying a club members pilot certificate and other paperwork by John Gilbert[_2_]
A quick question or four: Does you club verify that a member has a license, a valid BFR, and/or any other certification documents? Do you record the actual numbers, photocopy, or just verify? Is it different if that member is just towing with their private ship, as opposed to flying a club...

For those of you not already in the 1-26 association, we have another sad story of a glider pilot who has left us on this plane of earth. Vern Hutchinson, the USA 2008 1-26 champion, (awards in one year: old buzzard, old goat, old toad) and WWII veteran, died august 15th, 2009. He had traveled...
