FLYWITH CE recorder by
Brad[_2_]
Anyone use one of these? I bought one and am pretty satisfied with it,
but it has this "feature" that requires it to send the flight to a
website to get a "sign"/validate the G-record.............half the
time I can't get my flights signed and this means they are not OLC
valid.
Thanks,
Brad

another example of bungled news reporting by
Brad[_2_]
Yesterday evening the TV news was all a twitter about a Homebuilt
Helicopter that crashed, killing the pilot. News reports were that the
helicopter was built by the pilot................today, we are reading
in the paper (on-line news) the the helicopter was a R-22, hardly a
homebuilt.....but here...

antenna dilemma by
Brad[_2_]
My buddies tell me my handheld is too painfull to listen to anymore. I
would put in a panel mount, but since I have a mostly carbon aircraft,
where should I put the antenna? Too late to install it in the rudder,
or is there a solution that would allow me to install one in the
rudder??
I think the...

Thin Airfoil and Climb Performance by
Brad[_2_]
As a guy who has flown thick airfoil ships and currrently owns a ship
with a 17% airfoil, I am curious what kind of performance in climb I
might see with a 14% airfoil section.
Thanks,
Brad

Libelle 301 flap hookup by
Brad[_2_]
can someone explain how the Libelle H-301 flap control is hooked up at
the fuselage. Or, even better, does someone have any pictures or a
rigging illustration they could e-mail me. How is the flap hinged? is
it center hinged like the H-304 or lower hinged?
Thanks!

Glider Shapes by

This sort of follows up on the future of soaring thread, but is more
focused on the sailplane design aspect.
Ok.....here is the scenario: the powers that be have decided that once
again the soaring community needs a sailplane that represents Joe
Sailplane Pilot. Joe sailplane pilot wants a...

soaring into the future by
Brad[_2_]
I was browsing thru one of the Yahoo glider N.G.'s today and read
where the World Class design may get ressurected. That got me to
thinking:
What would the ideal recreational next generation sailplane sailplane
look like? I imagine it won't look much different from what we are
seeing now in terms...

Blanik L-13 elevator cable replacement by
Brad[_5_]
Greetings, group!
Our local club has a pair of L-13s. In one of them, we recently
discovered a badly-corroded elevator cable. The corrosion area was
located was approx. 15" aft of the bellcrank attachment, under the
port-side, aft cockpit flooring -- *very* difficult to get to. It
would appear...

Is anyone still interested in CuSoft "Polar Explorer" program for PC? by
Branko Stojkovic
Hello,
Sme 10 years ago I wrote a program for DOS named "Polar Explorer" - designed
for analyzing both theoretical and practical aspects of glider performance
in any conditions. The program was advertised in the Soaring magazine for a
couple of years by CuSoft Research Inc., and some 30 odd copies...

I have been having a problem with shutting down the MZ35 engine in flight on my Russia AC-5M. The engine keeps running (dieseling) for a couple of minutes until it cools down enough and finally quits. I changed the spark plug, took off the cylinder head and cleaned the carbon deposits, but to no...
