This is the Man Who Raised me by
Badwater Bill
There was a tragic incident in our family six days ago. My father who
was suffering from diabetes, palsy, lower back disk dehydration and
depression decided to end his life. He was scheduled for a hip
replacement operation on Monday. We all were planning a big party for
his 80th birthday which...

LSA Approach speeds by
Ace Pilot
During some hangar flying, the question was raised if there were any
potential LSA (light sport aircraft: max level speed 115 knots, VS0
39 knots, max weight 1,232 lbs., limited to 2 seats, etc.) with
approach speeds equal to or above 55 knots. I couldn't come up with
any, but I thought...

Could someone please describe circuitry of a PTT switch? by

I have an A-21 and headphone/mic adapter.
The adapter has the male jacks at one end for the A-21,and female

Carbon Fiber Layup - Conformal Peel Ply? by
RKT
I am doing wet layup in a covoluted mold using "porous teflon coated glass
peel-ply" between the lamnate and the breather. The peel-ply material is not
at all conformal and the pleats/overlaps are interfering with resin takeup.
Is there any other POROUS peel-ply material that is more conformal,...

Anyone know a good way to make a belly baggage pod? by
Tedstriker
My Jurca Sirocco has so little baggage space, that it really needs
some extra room. I'd like to make a bomb-shaped belly pod, and have
seen some made on other homebuilts. I've heard of some of the Pitt's
S-1 guys welding two spinners together, back to back, but that doesn't
have the look I want....

magneto rotation? by
Heino & Deanne Weisberg
When referring to magneto rotation, do you look at the magneto from the
drive end or harness end?
I believe a RH rotating mag would be clockwise as you look at it from the
drive end, but I'm not sure.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Off The Wall Questions!!!!!!!!!!!! by
COLIN LAMB
Hey, I was the kid that aksed questions in school that made the teacher
wonder if they were in the right class so here goes:
1. If I built a large domed building, could I fly my helicopter inside
without a helicopter license? I know there is some debate about needing a
pilot license if you do...

Oshkosh rumor about camping by
Jim Gardiner
Reliability on this, is at best fair to unsubstantiated.....
The rumor is as follows:
Antique/classic/vintage/the guys south of the Communication Tower are not
letting any homebuilts camp in their camping area due to the fact Homebuilts
has a new camping area off the end of Papa 1.
Fact: there...

Mil-Spec and Mil-Spec kit? by
Michael Horowitz
I'd like to read MIL-SPEC TT-P-1757, which talks about zinc chromate.
GOOGLING for it, I see offers to /sell/ the document.
Shouldn't that spec be available on-line somewhere?
Second, I see offers for "Mil-Spec TT-P-1757 kit". What would the
'kit' consist of? - Mike

I was just wondering what homebuilders are have installed or are planning to

Handheld or panel-mounted? If panel-mounted, then:
older, TSO-certified radios?
new, but used, radios?
brand new radios (a KX-155 with glide slope lists for...
