Has the FAA ever admitted to any error on anything EVER?
It seems like it's always the unions or the pilots NEVER the FAA

Flew an SR22 yesterday by
[email protected]
I was contacted with an offer to test fly a Cirrus SR22 so yesterday I
did. I arrived at the airport and found that there was "ground school"
going on up in the FBO's classroom. The son of the demo pilot had a
program on his laptop that had a picture of the cockpit systems.
Details on each system...

Formation flying by
[email protected]
I was told by one CFII that when there is a formation flight of
different performance aircraft that the slower plane should be in the
lead. Reason was that the faster plane can always keep up. Another
CFII (ex AF) said just the opposite - that the faster plane can just
throttle back. I don't...

MS flight simulator: 2002 or 2004? by
[email protected]
anyone have some thoughts on the differences between the two?
i had a panasonic w2 laptop. 768MB RAM, 40GB HD (20 free), VGA video
with 64MG shared memory.
i think 2002 would be better as its system requirements are lower.
thanks

Gillespie Field, San Diego by
Glasair470
If anyone is familiar with the field, I would like to park the plane
(Glasair) wherever the transient county parking is located and get to
the Trolley Orange Line on the road outside the airport to catch a
ride downtown to the Convention Center. Is it walkable from the field
to the trolley station?

Denver by
[email protected]
Hi-
I'm a 41-hour student pilot visiting Denver this weekend. I purposely
scheduled my flight home for mid-late Sunday afternoon, because I
really want to go for a flight here in Denver on Sunday morning. (I
even brought my headset with me.) The scenery should be spectacular,
especially with...

Garmin 196 acting up by
Glenn Westfall
I have a Garmin 196 and just in the past week or so it is acting
strange. I get a signal just fine, but when I am standing still it
constanly changes headings. It never moves in a direction, just turns
in circles sporatically. Once I begin to move, it tracks just fine.
But as soon as I stop, it...

Recording cockpit voices by
Glenn Westfall
Does anyone know of any adapters or such that would allow hooking up
an audio recorder to record all cockpit communications? ie, both
transmissions to ATC and conversations to other passengers.
Thanks,
Glenn

One Six Right..... by
gliderguynj
On the Discovery Channel HD there is a 90 minute documentary more or
less about the history of Vanuys Airport in California. It has some
of the most incredible air to air footage I've ever seen. It's well
worth the watch. Phil Boyer amongst others get to talk about General
Aviation and the...

Why you should check your gas.... by
gliderguynj
To add to the list of jokes about my home state of NJ,.....
The news reported that over 30 cars were stranded on the side of the
road after they filled up at a Lukoil station and received "Bad
Gas".
Now some would think that turning your airplane into a glider in
midair might be better than being...

New FSS frustration by
gman
Hello All,
Sorry for ranting but:
Last Friday, I was at Burnet, TX (BMQ) in light drizzle at 6:00am and
was trying to get an IFR clearance out of there. There was a cell a
few miles West of the airport moving towards the airport with a lot of
nasty stuff behind it.
I was pre-flighted and ready...
