B-40 on gliderpilot.net by
sisu1a
There usually seems to be someone that wants a deal on a B-40, and
they rarely show up used. It's 57mm, almost new w/paperwork, and the
guy wants 175GBP for it. Seems like a decent deal to me...http://

3D Logger by
sisu1a
Anyone used one of these in a glider or other aircraft yet?
http://www.shadowboxlive.com/
I am interested in a 3D logger for acro flying and such, and this unit
appears to fit the bill by measuring speed, alt, g's, and angular
rates/positions combined with GPS, so I'm curious to hear...

The McGurk Effect by

More on the subject of the limitations of human physiology... Just ran
across this great little segment of a BBC show called Horizon, on The
McGurk Effect and thought it went nicely with the counting test and
optical effects, but thought it deserved it's own thread. Watch your
ears lie, despite...

Anyone out there get this to work properly? I've got my 310 and
computer on the same COM/baud... even got them to connect (COM
connection, not headset). Sorta got it to work with my 3.12
installation (accepted the NMEA stream from Condor and thought it was
in Slovenia...), but corrupted it in the...

Looking to give my 12-year-old niece a book about learning to fly
gliders, prior to her starting lessons this summer. Any thoughts on
the most appropriate/accessible book for someone her age? Thanks--

recommended, but we...

Getting Raptured This Saturday? by
sisu1a
I won't be, so can you please leave me as custodian/guardian of your
glider? It would really help me enjoy the last 5 months of
civilization, and from the post-rapture weather predictions I've read
it sounds like the thermals will be GREAT! I'd really like to get the
paperwork settled before...

SZD Canopy Info by

Anyone know if the SZD-55 canopy uses the same perspex molding as the
SZD-48-3 or the 59? (the Jantar Std 3 and the Acro have the same exact

Before lectures start about how even 'identical canopies' are slightly
different from one individual ship to the next, I'm not...

Flow cloaking... I wonder if there are aeronautical possibilities... by

theoretically (substantially) reducing the amount of drag generated by
a boat's hull by 'tricking' the surrounding water into standing...
