experimental; registration & restrictions? by
tienshanman
Can anyone point me towards a good summary of the rules governing experimental registration of an imported, self launching glider? What is required to register and what you can and cannot do with it? Also, are there any regulatory or real world problems regarding flying one from a GA airport?

Paperwork list for experimental glass ship by
John[_27_]
Having recently purchased a new-to-me sailplane, I have been told
about various forms or paperwork I must have to ensure things are
legal - ranging from the program letter stating where/when I will fly
to operating limitations. There seems to be varying stories on what
exactly is required.
Is...

The BLACK Book presentation by
Dave Newill
About four or five years ago at the SSA Convention, someone delivered
a presentation on "The BLACK Book" - that set of instructions as to
what to do - whom to call - priorities etc. for a disaster on your
field. Of course the primary concern was an accident on field, but
other topics were...

Kalispell, MT by
Dave Springford
It is possible to fly a US registered glider in Canada. There are two
"categories"
"Category 1" flying with a Standard Certificate of Airworthiness for
a type certified glider, or "Category 2" if your glider is registered
as Experimental.
1. If you are NOT registered as Experimental - there is...

Glider Safety, etc. by
None[_2_]
Comments about the instructor pool are misleading in part. At one
point we were so desperate for instructors that we considered hiring
outsiders for our club. We searched the FAA directory and came up
with 52 rated CFI-Gs here in Indiana. I went through the list,
recognized the names of many of...

Help !! Ventus CM- engine stuck by
hoss
After stowing the engine on a self-launch I heard a high pitched
whine. I turned off the circuit breakers.. The problem is now I can
not extend the engine. The circuit breaker will pop if it is reset.
Any ideas on how to extend a stuck engine? ( other than cutting a hole
in the side of the fuselage)

Just Too Much Fun! by

I’m writing from Immokalee Florida, after a day spent with Don

working on winch launch training. To describe the first launch, the
phrase ‘mind blowing’ would be suitable, were it not so over-used,
because your mind just cannot...
