Pilot Schedule: Excellent soaring club scheduling and communication service by
Bret Hess
After a lot of research last winter Utah Soaring Association switched our glider scheduling and communications (email) software to Pilot Schedule (pilotschedule.com). The support has been great ... they have added features we needed. The cost is less than we were paying before for our old...

Sailplanes are white...because of gelcoat? by
Bret
I always thought sailplanes were white so the interior structure
wouldn't overheat and approach the glass temperature of epoxy, about
190 F, and fail. And yet I see homebuilt aircraft of wood/epoxy
structure painted all colors. So is it the gelcoat that the white
color is protecting?

Full-span flaperons as airbrakes? by
Bret
Hi, do any gliders have full-span flaperons that also act as airbrakes
(say at 70-90 degree), or do you lose all aileron authority when the
flaperons are that deflected?

Definition(s) of pitch sensitivity? All-flying tails by
Bret
Hi, I hear a lot about pitch sensitivity. Can that mean more than one
thing?
For example, it seems it could mean:
1. A glider in which smaller than typical stick movements are needed
for pitch control
2. A glider in which the pitch stability is less, in that when
perturbed from trimmed level...

BravoNiner
Time to replace some yaw strings. Can anyone recommend a good way to
remove old tape residue without doing violence to the canopies?

Keeping mylar straight by
BravoNiner
Some years ago I saw a magazine article (or reflector post) containing
some advice on what seemed a very simple means for keeping everything
absolutely straight in the spanwise direction when replacing mylar
seals. For the life of me, I cannot now find that information (which
I recall -- although...

Ventus 2cx brake by
BravoCharlie
Hi Pilots,
I have a V2cxT that has the standard S-H disc brake that no longer
works very well. I have been through the obvious fixes; pads, new
fluid, bleed, etc. and haven't been able to bring it back up to
original performance which was adequate but not stellar.
I know a number of pilots have...

OLC Smiley Face by

Hi Pilots,
I have tried to contribute twice using the link from the site. It
seemed to work fine except no smiley face and no charges to my credit
card. Has anyone else had this problem? Solutions?
Thanks,
Bob
