Oudie IGC spurious RF emissions by Evan Dosik
My Oudie IGC will too often break the squelch with a hideous noise on both my panel radio (an old Dittel) and also most any handheld that comes within about 12" of the Oudie. Anyone else seeing this issue? Thanks, Evan 6E

The Aviators Goes Gliding (at last) by Charlie Papa[_2_]
A Dutch roll as we call it, is a roll to one side to about 30 degrees, followed immediately by a roll to the other side, - back and forth, left aileron + left rudder, followed by right aileron and rudder. If the pilot has input a coordinated level of aileron and rudder, the longitudinal axis...

Does anyone know how to stop my flapped Vega back releasing early when winching? I would be interested in talking to any Vega owner who has experienced this problem and how they have resolved it. Jon Hart

Club Class by John Cochrane[_3_]
Three cheers. The "US club class" section of the ongoing sports nationals has 17 pilots flying. Two (silent, apis) are below the usual club limit, which makes a bit of a case for allowing such gliders in club class in the future. Three more (2 x 304 flying in 17 meter, and 1 x genesis II) could...

FLARM to LK8000 with K6 BT2 by Dan S
Does anyone know how to set up lk8000 to accept FLARM data via a K6 BT2 box? I have my vario sending data to LK8000 but can't figure out to get the flarm data. My flarm classic's aux output is connected to the second port on the K6 bt2 box but there are no obvious settings for flarm in LK that I...

Fried Volkslogger by SoaringXCellence
Today I powered up the ship, was getting ready to stage and smoke started rolling out of the instrument panel. Powered off the electrical system and traced the melted wiring to the Volkslogger, stowed under the turtledeck. The RJ45 connector was melted into the socket on the VL and the whole...

OLC posting by [email protected]
Has anyone found a way to use an iPhone to post igc files to OLC using an SD card. My research indicates that Apple does not allow uploading files to a browser other than music and videos on an iPhone. Understand it can work on iPad but am looking for iPhone solution.

Is teflon safe to use under mylar tape wing seals? by Tom BravoMike
I have applied some teflon spray with a brush into the canopy sliding window rails with good result. Now I'm wondering whether I could use it in the same way under the mylar tape on the wings to reduce friction and ease forces on the ailerons. Any thoughts if and how it reacts with gelcoat/glass...

Gone West... Bill Seed by Steve Leonard[_2_]
The soaring community lost a colorful character on June 3, 2017, when Bill Seed passed away at his beloved Sunflower Aerodrome and Gliderport near Hutchinson, Kansas. He was 73 years old. Bill was known to many in the soaring community for various things, but he was known most to me for three...

Oratex by Andrew Fletcher
Has anyone used Oratex to cover a glider here? If so what was your experience both in applying and then the finished product compared to the traditonal way. I have a K6 wing that I am about to cover.

wtb: Blanik L-23 (or Grob 103) by Dave Springford
Anyone in RAS-land know of a L-23 for sale in the US? Nothing listed on Wings and Wheels, but maybe there is one sitting quietly in the corner of a hangar that could be sold. Another option would be a Grob 103 - there are a couple on W&W to be pursued, but do you know of any others? And, finally...
