Not required, by worthwhile, training by
son_of_flubber
Last summer, I put my ear to the wind and I figured out that 'spin training' was worthwhile, but not required to obtain a private pilot glider rating.
What other training is worthwhile, but not required? What can I ask a qualified instructor to teach me after I obtain my glider rating?
For...

Glareshield mounted compass? by
Echo
Anyone have any experience modifying the glareshield for a partially embedded compass? I have a brand new airpath panel mount, but would like the panel space for a transponder, flarm, something more productive. Ideally would prefer to swap my airpath for something I could mount somehow half set...

Sectionals for GlidePlan by
2KA
I've recently acquired the capability to make updated sectionals that can be used with GlidePlan. Kinda. Right now it is a pretty manual process that takes me about an hour or so for each one. I'm trying go gauge how much interest still remains in that program to see if it would be worth the...

Pawnee 235 vs Cessna Bird Dog vs Maule as towplanes by
kirk.stant
I realize this has been hashed over in the past, but looking for a fresh discussion on the relative merits of these three towplanes.
Specifically, how does a stock Bird Dog compare to a 235 Pawnee, and how do various Maules do as towplanes.
Our club is considering various options for adding to...

Combining vario and radio output into one speaker by
Paul B[_2_]
I am wondering if it is possible to combine the outputs of a vario and a radio and send it to one speaker. I did try to Google it, but I did not find a satisfactory answer.
Any ideas please?
Cheers
Paul

Master Switch by
Dan Marotta
A while back I was looking at LiFePO4 batteries to solve my electrical
problems and I may still order them as my SLA batteries are getting old and
hold less of a charge.
I did, however, get behind my panel last week and changed out my master
switch for one more substantial in current capability...

What is magical about a 45 degree bank? by
son_of_flubber
I know that a 45 degree bank is useful for flying small circles and staying in small thermals, but is there something special about a 45 degree bank compared to say a 50 degree bank?
For example, does the designer intend for the glider to do something special at 45 degrees? Is the glider designed...

Dave Nadler
I have a customer looking for hangar dolly for heavy
glider (Antares). Anything that works for Duo, Arcs,
DG-500/1000, or similar will probably work. Anybody
know of commercial fabricators of such things, or
a used one available ?
Thanks,
Best Regards, Dave

Hello, All,
Has anyone else seen the latest mandatory bulletin from LET regarding Blaniks (see below? it requires eddy testing for the grounded L-13's. Could this be an alternative method of compliance to make them airworthy again?

PowerFLARM USB 3 cables and ConnectMe to PowerFLARM through V7 by
Tim Taylor
Two comments/questions:
1. I had purchased a panel mount extension USB cable to allow me to plug the USB drive into the panel for upgrades and flight downloads. I didn't think anything about the cable type but after doing the install I can not download flights. I started looking at the cable and...

CNVV question by
Don Davidson
Hi, I'm planning to attend a mountain flying course at CNVV in St. Auban in June, and I'm trying to get answers to a couple of questions from others who have flown there.
First, I speak only enough French to mangle a dinner order. How much of an obstacle is that likely to be both for flight...
