Minden Wave Camp Lives Again by [email protected]
I stopped by Minden yesterday with a list of things to do to get my soaring season started and had the pleasure of stumbling into the resurrected Minden wave camp - now hosted by Soaring NV. I have to say it was one of the better organized and prepared soaring events I've attended in some time....

Is there a place in the Mid-Atlantic region where one can launch likethis? by Fred the Red Shirt
Is there a place in the Mid-Atlantic US where one can launch a glider by simply rolling down a steep hill into the wind the way Mike Sandlin launches his BUG and GOAT? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-noBy7oHCG0

Wingtip Camera by NG[_2_]
Anybody have a recommendation for a small thin digital camera with decent quality that might be suitable for taping to a winglet for inflight down-the-wing shots, with a connection for an rf remote? Have not been able to find a small camera with remote option. Thanks...

SeeYou and EW-USER Text File? by Papa3
Hi, I half-heartedly searched the SeeYou forum for this, so apoligies if I missed it. I have an EW Microrecorder with the SD Card. Recorder stays in the glider and is used as a "dumb" backup (so it's not connected to a PDA or other input device). SD card comes home with me. Question: Is...

Port of Houston by Kevin
Looking for a recommendation for a freight handling company or other intermediary who can help with the delivery a glider in its trailer at the Port of Houston. It will be in a container off a ship in the usual way, but I'm getting conflicting stories about how best to pick it up. Post 9/11...

First day of Minden Wave Camp, 2009 by [email protected]
We had a good (but not easy) first day of wave camp in Minden. Gordo called around 8:00 to say "surf's up!" and he was right. He launched first with one of the wave camp participants and puttered around at about 16,000' between here and Reno for an hour and a half. We opened the wave window but...

Tow Pilot Currency by 150flivver
Is it true a PPL tow pilot needs to fly and log an endorsement with a current and qualified tow pilot every 12 months (three flights) to be current? I've read 61.69 and that's what it seems to say.

SPOT tracking at Perry by Frank[_1_]
Mark Hawkins has made a number of upgrades to the SPOT tracking program used at the Seniors contest, and it will be at Perry to provide real-time tracking of SPOT-equipped gliders. If you have already registered your SPOT with Mark, then you are all set. If not, then you can do so by setting up a...

Charlie Spratt: Let Him Know by Chip Bearden
No doubt many wonderful things will be said about Charlie Spratt after he's gone. But funerals are for the living. If you have something you'd like to say, whether a nostalgic memory, a tribute or just "good bye, old friend," don't wait until the funeral or a memorial Web page. We don't always get...

Becker AR3201 by [email protected]
Does anyone have experience with audio on transmit being heard over the speaker? It does not have intercom wired and we believe it is wired according to available wiring diagram. Have manual which has no troubleshooting section. Have tried changing battery also. Thanks UH
