opinions on a K13 by
Scott Macleman
I am a member of the council for my University gliding club - fairly new
compared to most of the people in this forum, but hey i enjoy it.
We currently own a K13 aircraft with a (fairly) serviceable trailer.
we have been offered an Acro with no trailer, and in order to buy it we
will need to sell...

Weak Dollar (Bad News - Good News) by
JJ Sinclair
The weak dollar has driven the price of a new glass slipper with instruments,
trailer and shipping to $100,000 US dollars (Bad News) I have watched the
dollar exchange rate for almost 30 years and I have made some observations.
When the dollar gets this weak, new sales drop off and buyers are...

Biggest Glider Ever Launched via Winch? by
[email protected]
In our winch clinic last week, the paraglider folks we shared the dry
lake with, seemed surprised we could get something as big as a Blanik
off the ground with a long steel cable.
Their tandem instructor asked our CFIG, "what was the largest gross
weight sailplane ever ground launched". Never...

Gatorade (only slightly OT) by
Martin Gregorie[_5_]
With summer, season of heat, dehydration and cramps, nearly here I have a
question:
Does anybody know where I can buy powdered Gatorade in the UK -
preferably lemon/lime flavour in 521g (18.4 oz) jars.
Failing that, does anybody have a recipe for an acceptable substitute?

Looking for Libelle information. by
914Driver
Hello all,
New guy here. I recently bought a Schuemanized Libelle and would like more information on these ships. I heard there were only nine manufactured, but I can't find that in writing anywhere. Because the nose is closed up (CG tow hook now) air into the cabin is slight, I'm curious how...

Dittel FSG50 wiring diagram by
Chris Davison
Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a Dittel FSG50.
I have a lot of colour coded wires trailing out the
back from the cradle and no idea where they go!
Thanks

Soaring in China by
Michael Ash
I'm going to China for a few weeks in October and I thought it would be
nice to get in a little flying while I'm there. Unfortunately information
on the subject seems hard to find. I've found a couple of posts in this
group which didn't get much in the way of replies, and I found one article...

Towing performance SF25C Rotax Falke 912S? by
Steen Th. Pedersen
I am looking for some reliable data on the Rotax Falkes towing performance,
but I have until now not found any consistent values.
I would therefore very much appreciate if you would send me some
information, if you have any experience in this area.

Flight Analysis with NMEA GPS Data File by
jchutch
I have a handy little BlueTooth GPS logger. I can download files and
then display on GPSVisualer.com, but would love to be able to use
soaring programs to analyze in greater detail. GPSBabel does not
support icg, and programs like SeeYou do not appear to accept NMEA or
types of files generated by...

Motor Glider engines - Rotax 535 spares by
Ian Strachan
I fly a Nimbus 4DM motor glider, owned by a syndicate that operates
out of Lasham, UK. A breathtaking machine, particularly when I
compare it to gliders I flew decades ago such as the Grunau, Olympia
(Meise), and then the Skylark series. But I digress ...
This post on the international soaring...

Dittel radio Q by
ken ward
I have one of the older rectangular box Dittels. They slide into a tray
which mounts to the panel. To secure the radio box to the tray, there's
a screw which pivots a little aluminum tab into a locking position.
My aluminum tab is stripped out. Where can I get a replacement? I
guess I could...

Here's a quote from Slate Magazine (http://www.slate.com/id/2147499/):
Syria had hundreds of files on al-Qaida, including dossiers on those
who had participated-or wanted to participate-in the 9/11 attacks.
Syrian spies had penetrated al-Qaida cells throughout the Middle East,
and Syrian President...

The aerodynamics of a towplane in a kiting glider situation by
Tom BravoMike
I know there is a thread going on about and around the latest tragic accident from 5-9-2020 and I preferred to start a new thread as I felt uncomfortable going into a dry technical discussion in the context. So the issue is:
I would like to know more about the aerodynamics of the towplane in all...
