Pinging: Dan C (NV, USA) by
[email protected]
If anyone has regular contact with Dan at Ely please ask him to give me
a call, shoot me an e-mail, or send up a smoke signal. A seance contact
will do.
He won the lottery but must contact me to get his jackpot.

S-H safety harness (V2C) by
[email protected]
An annoying property of my Ventus 2C is that the safety harness does
not hold me into the seat. When encountering turbulance my upper torso
leaves the seat and my head ocassionally hits the canopy.
The position of the shoulder strap anchors aft of the cockpit is high
enough that no downward force...

Region 9 contest at Turf by
[email protected]
I've received a number of inquiries about the status of the scheduled
contest at Turf, with the closing of the commercial operation there.
The contest is still a go, but we (the Arizona Soaring Association) are
now having to manage the tow planes ourselves. We need at least two,
hopefully three...

Cessna 188 Agwagon as towplane by
[email protected]
I know there are several of these in operation as tow aircraft around
the country. I would like to know how they compare to standard Pawnees
in terms of:
1) performance
2) maintenance costs
3) insurance costs
4) fuel consumption
Also how to get tow plane conversions done, and how much that costs.

A fun (!?) weekend by
[email protected]
What would you have thought, had you seen the following posted on April
1st?
A low time pilot (we'll call him Alpha Omega) launches with a dozen
other pilots in the first day of the group's annual contest series. AO
has very little, if any, x/c experience, and only recently bought the
glider. The...

S-H canopy seating by
[email protected]
I'm not sure if my V2C canopy's final fit is correct, and whether this
can be adjusted.
The canopy frame sits very slightly higher than the neighboring fuse
when closed and locked, by 1 - 1.5 mm. I don't know whether this is
within factory tolerance, and if it's not, if there's an adjustment...

Ventus 2C W&B - 15M vs 18M by
[email protected]
My V2C came with a factory W&B (for 18M) and a meticulous spreadsheet
from the first owner to track changes (like substitution of a brass
tail wheel, or using factory fin weights). I'm going over this
spreadsheet in detail prior to getting my own W&B done but am unable to
figure out how the 15M...

Innocent Guantanamo detainees speak out on abuse, murder. by

Schreder Motorglider by

Does anyone have any information on motorglider conversions for any of
the Schreder aircraft. I've heard of an HP-11 and HP-14 in Canada but I
can't get any information. - Pat

Master clyinder by
[email protected]
We are looking for a new wheel brake master cylinder for our Grob 103
Twin Two Acro. The one that is in there is "Magura" brand, but no
part number. This is obviously from a motorcycle, circa 1980, but we
can't seem to cross reference. Some machining work was done on it to
convert to fit a...

Law of Primacy by
[email protected]
I guess we are all pretty much in agrement that the law of primacy
makes it just about impossible for anyone who learned glider flying
with 0 altimeter to ever be able to fly with MSL altimeter, because
under pressure, he will revert back, and death, distruction, disaster,
etc will ensue.
With the...
