Adhesive for wing bumper pads by william geiger
I need to reattach one. What adhesive would work? I think I put this one on with rubber cement and got 10 plus years service but was wondering if there is a better solution for getting the flat surface of the rubber bumper to adhere to the curved wing surface.

Adhesive removal by [email protected]
Ok, We have discussed how to remove the male condoms used by a number of pilots as part of their relief systems. Now, how does everybody remove the remaing adhesive? Paint thinner, acetone, only kidding. But, how do you get that struff off. Soap and water does not seem to do the trick. What is...

Adjusting the canopy frame on an Arcus M by [email protected]
Hello All, Our Arcus M canopy has always had a problem with proper closure and securement. Despite the passage of three years time, the problem is now better and worse not better. I have read all the advice and comments on a solution to this problem. The glider has been always hangared and...

Adjusting your OLC pos?? Seems like I could get more distance. by KevinFinke
http://www.onlinecontest.org/olc-2.0/gliding/flightinfo.html?flightId=415267746 Reference the above flight from this last weekend. In late fall no less. We had 7 private owner ships flying, but only 3 of us were recording that day. There were some really fun flights by everyone. Now back to the...

Admit your lie, tommy by Lennie the Lurker
No facts, just an ego. Dig in google, the final straw of the down and drowning. Just admit it, tommy boy, you shot off your overstuffed ego and oversized mouth, and my foot is in it. I even made sure that you were insinuating what I thought you were, and you swallowed the hook, line and sinker. ...

adrenaline, was why do you soar? by Robert Ehrlich
Tom Seim wrote: ... This type of adrenaline rush is what attracts people to our sport. They don't like to admit (I took some heat when I characterized them as "adrenaline junkies"), but it is true. We want to subscribe to some higher calling, such as "the thrill of the flight". But we...

Adrian Soaring Club to observe Day of Mourning 12/17? by LarSwan
Adrian Soaring Club to observe Day of Mourning Michigan's Adrian Soaring Club will officially observe a Day of Mourning on the centennial of the day Wilbur and Orville gave up gliding. Assuming we're not buried under 20 inches of fluffy water, we'll make as many glider flights as possible. We're...

ADS-B + Drones by Craig Funston[_2_]
Looks like integration of drones into U.S. airspace is keyed to implementation of ADS-B http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/03/120326103341.htm I suspect this more than many other factors may push the ADS-B timeline. Craig -- Using Opera's revolutionary email client:...

Ads-b and sailplanes by Andrew Ainslie
Has anyone been following the latest moves from the FAA on ads-b and experimental aircraft? A recent article in flying suggested that they are going to relax the requirements for experimental planes so they need a GPS source that is equivalent in performance to TSO'd units. If this is true, it...

ADS-B Compliance by 2G
I confirmed with the FAA recently what others have said here befo after 1/1/2020 glider flight at altitudes 10,000 ft and above AND above 2,500 ft AGL WILL require ADS-B out. The only good news that I got is that the FAA is actively looking at low-cost, low-power GPS sources for the GPS part of...

ADS-B in and out in both the tow plane and glider by Charles Longley
Because we haven't quite beaten the ADS-B subject to death ;) I thought I would start a new topic. Does anyone have experience when both the tow plane and glider have ADS-B in and out? How are the alarms handled? In my local area I think there's only one glider with ADS-B out. I am installing a...

ADS-B or just Mode S for class E airspace? by [email protected]
Hi all, Sorry to start yet another ADS-B discussion, but I'm wondering about the value of it to a glider that doesn't fly in airspace that requires it. I have a Mode S transponder, so I believe I will continue to be 'visible' to both ATC and TCAS systems. (I am flying through some areas that are...
