1,633 km (1,015 sm) Sierra Wave Flight by
Kizuno
Last Thursday, March 25, the Sierra wave was in prime form. I took off from
the Minden, Nevada airport at 6:46am in my ASH-26E and flew a Free 3 TP task
landing at California City at 5:03pm for an estimated distance of 1,633 km.
This flight was similar to my SOARING magazine article of last year...

1-26 & 2-22 available by
[email protected]
I recently rescued a 1-26C and 2-22C from long term storage included in a deal for another aircraft I intend to keep. When stored both gliders were in pretty good condition but accumulated a lot of mouse debris mainly in the lower fuselages. The seat cushions are gone as are the logs and paperwork....

1-26 1000K Attempt In Progress by
Papa3[_2_]
Ron Schwartz got off tow a little before 7 a.m. after a launch from Blairstown. He has a declared 1000K 3 turnpoint in the box. While the synoptic picture isn't classic, it seems to be working. Local winds picked up shortly after sunrise and reporting stations along the route are currently...

1-26 chase 1-26 movie.... where can I get it? by
The Stick and Rudder
Hello fellow glider/sailplane pilots... many years ago I had the
opportunity to see a movie that featured two 1-26's chasing each other
around the sky, down a mountain-side, thermalling, etc. I have looked
for a copy of this movie a few times but have never been able to find
it, save one time and...

1-26 corrosion humid environments (was first glider)? by
tstock
I had been browsing 1-26's looking for my first glider and had a few
sellers tell me the 1-26 would not be happy in Florida due to the
humid environment.
Is this because the fuselage frame is made from steel rather than
aluminum and prone to rusting?
I know there are plenty of 1-26's here in...

1-26 Dimension Needed by
Mark Zivley
The trailer configuration for our club's 1-26 uses a steel tube that is
passed through the aft wing attach recepticals. This tube keeps the
fuse stable on the trailer. Anyone know off hand what the largest "off
the shelf" diameter tubing will go through that aft wing pass through?
No, I wasn't...

The top two OLC point-getters in the US for June 6th were both 1-26 guys in California. Doug Levy and George Powell posted flights of 544 km and 415 km. Pretty cool.

1-26 for first glider, or not? by
tstock
I know I will get replies on each end of the spectrum... but for a
first glider, low time pilot, it seems like a 1-26 would be a good
choice. Easy to fly, easy to land in tight spaces, cheap to maintain,
and very common and there are a few 1-26 groups, so help is
available. It's inexpensive (well...

1-26 in Condor by
Chris Wedgwood[_2_]
Hi all.
The 1-26E for Condor 2 is well advanced, should be released in a couple of months.
I need some help. Looking for cockpit decals/placards. Ideally a graphic file rather than a photo, but if the photo is good, then that would help.
You should be able to email me at the address given above,...
