Has anyone obtained approval to fly their Experimental Category aircraft
over Canada and/or the Bahamas?

Mode S transponders by
Wallis
Anyone know if there's a lightweight mode S xponder in the works that's
practical for cub types, gliders, whatever? I live in Europe, and the day
is fast appraoaching when these will be required on all aircraft flying in
or under controlled airspace, effectively confining all antiques to their
own...

Seeking A&P to do a Long-EZ pre-buy inspection in OK immediately by
Shin Gou
Hi,
I am looking for an A&P experienced with Long-EZ to do a pre-buy
inspection for me near Tulsa, OK. I will be on site too. I am not
requesting an annual inspection, just a thorough pre-buy inspection. I
would like to pay upper-average rate and local travel expenses. Thank
you.

Global Flyer Success by
Jan Nademlejnsky
It is unbelievable achievement from those guys. Rutan is absolutely the best
engineer and unconventional dreamer. That's real engineering what he is
doing!
Congratulation to Steve for his remarkable success. I could not imagine to
be without sleep for so many hours with the jet engine screaming...

prop test engine- cheap by
[email protected]
What have folks found to be the cheapest engine to swing a prop for
function and reliability testing? Needs about 100 hp at 2500rpm with
maybe a little extra up to 2800rpm. I would rather not go direct drive
if I can help it but that might be the cheapest way.
I thought about jacking my truck up...

WI airport closure by
Jay Honeck
The village of Grantsburg, WI is considering closing their public
municipal
airport.
Does Grantsburg have a local AOPA rep? If not, someone there needs to
step up to the plate and become one. AOPA has a lot of clout that can
be brought to bear on Federal, State and local officials in these...

Adding a lifting point. by
[email protected]
Although I asked the A&P to add a lifting point to my A-65 when it was
in the shop, he didn't do it, so I plan on adding one myself.
Assume the bolts are long enough to take the added thickness of the
lifting point.
Action will involve removing two bolts and retorqing them. But it's not
simply...

Neat design spotted yesterday by
[email protected]
Yesterday, while I was flying south from Sacramento to Harris Ranch, as
I passed overhead an Modesto or Stockton airport (I wasn't lost, I just
don't remember which one it was)..an aircraft took off and climbed
rapidly to my level (5500 ft).
From the top, as I passed over it, it looked like it...

OT - Humour - oldie by

After every flight, Qantas pilots fill out a form, called a "gripe =
sheet," which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The =
mechanics correct the problems; document their repairs on the form, and =
then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight. Never let it =

Looking for a fuselage by
Jay Honeck
Or a big propeller.
Now that our conversion to an aviation theme-suites hotel is almost
complete, we think it's time to make the *outside* of the place look more
aviation-ish. (We've only changed the inside, thus far.)
Anyone know where I can find an old Cessna 140 (for example) fuselage...
