World Class Nationals (US) by Andy[_1_]
I seems to be a sad reflection on our sport, or the rules that govern it, that a contest with only 7 contestants can be called a "Nationals". I'm used to flying local club contests with 3 times more contestants than that! Andy

long flight by Brad[_2_]
My glider N199AK supposedly landed at Johnstown, PA airport last year..........I have the Port Authority bill sent to me to pay for the landing fee. My question is: can I use this bill as proof that I flew there from Washington State? And if so, I believe that may make my flight one of the longest...

SSA Best Pilot Ranking by Andy[_1_]
The SSA member achievements pages show the current US pilot ranking and the best pilot ranking. In my case my best ranking is based on a 2004 Regional in which I placed 6th. Since I placed 2nd in a 2003 Regional I would have expected the ranking from that year to be higher. Can anyone explain...

Schleicher directional air vents by mattm[_2_]
Hi, All, my ASW-19 has three different air vents in the cockpit -- one in the nose that's controlled by a handle above the instrument panel, plus two holes in the sidewalls. The nose vent can get more or less closed, but there isn't any way to control the side vents. It occurs to me that there...

"Grab A Glider" by Jack Hamilton
Northbound on US 101 in South San Francisco this morning, I caught a glimpse of a billboard with an electronic sign on the bottom. Unfortunately, I had been looking down at something (don't worry, I was a passenger) and by the time I looked up we were almost past the sign, but I did read "Grab a...
