Schweizer 1-34 trailer fittings by
kirk.stant
Our club (SLSA) has a nice 1-34 that we want to encourage XC in; however our trailer (a basic Schweizer multi-glider open trailer) is missing the fittings needed to secure the glider to it - fuselage tiedowns, tail holders, etc. The rest of the trailer is in OK shape, so we want to make up new...

Pilot report from Hahnweide Mid-air by

I agree. Excellent report, however he is not retiring from competition
flying, quite the opposite. He still intends to fly competitions, but will
be selective about which ones.

ATTENTION PROCRASTINATORS - SSA CONTEST RULES COMMITTEE POLL AND ELECTION by
Dave Walsh
Brilliant Mk VIII description & video and I just love the quote: -
"No solution is too complicated for a Lange glider, right Axel".
But the MkVIII itself clearly need to be updated, I mean using
actual panel switches is so last century: what's wrong with
voice actuation? Surely modern software...

RIP 271 by
MNLou
I'm sorry to report that Jim Hard - 1-26 pilot extraordinaire - has taken his final glide.
He died peacefully yesterday evening in the hospital surrounded by friends and family.
He will be missed by many - both within and outside the Minnesota Soaring Club.
Good finish 271!

Apollo and our own. by
Karl Striedieck[_2_]
There must be a good number of our crowd out there that contributed their talents to getting us to the moon via the Apollo program.
One is Roy Cundiff (formerly “R1” Ventus) who was an engineer on those mighty first stage F1 engines that put out 7.5 million pounds of thrust, consuming 318,000...

COSIM PELLET VARIO by

I recall that someone wanted a Cosim pellet vario for
a vintage glider. There was one at the back of my instrument cupboard.
The pellets slide freely.

Wanted: Grob 103 elevator by
Duster
Oooops.......severe hangar rash has resulted in a crushed elevator on our Grob 103 Twin III. A repair is being considered, but it will be both costly and lengthy. Anyone know of an elevator that might be for sale? .....even a minimally-damaged one?
Thanks,
Michael

Good speed to fly vario. Needs see you or fly with CE for full functionality. Don't think it talks to LK8000. Can work as an audio vario only. Can throw in a Garmin GPS puck.
I upgraded to V7.
new $1600, offered at $400

BGA Instructor Training Experiences by

The possibility of my becoming an instructor has arisen. Again - I got
as far as buying the handbook once before, but was put off by the
quality of that publication and by the standards of the pedagogy I saw
in newly trained instructors and heard about in the course.
I'm hoping that things either...
