Wedekind Sleeves for GROB ASTIR CS by Juliet11[_2_]
I have the sleeves and the directive from GROB authorizing the installation on the ASTIR CS, but I only have directions for the DG100 installation. The tubes on the ASTIR CS are different than that of the DG100 and my mechanic needs directions for the ASTIR CS. Does anyone know who has installed...

Weekday operations in NYC by ucsdcpc[_2_]
Hi, I'm coming over to the US for a few days in August, staying near Rochester NYC, I suspect I'm not going to be around at the weekend so was wondering if any of the glider clubs in the area operate on weekdays? I spotted Finger Lakes Soaring as seemingly the closest, but I think they are...

Weekend Highlights by Jack
I didn't expect things to work out quite as they did. I was pleasantly surprised, several times. I flew back to Houston from Amarillo on Friday, over summer-like skies. The cus were popping and cloudbase was about 10,000 AGL. That was a beautiful sight. I got home and found out that we were in fact...

Hi All, I signed up for Weglide yesterday and then was unable to log in. I tried to recover my password, went through the Captcha, and got a message saying to follow the instructions in the email. What email? I've tried a half dozen times and have not gotten an email. Yes, I checked my spam...

Looks like new interesting project for storing IGC flights. I think prehistoric OLC needs some fresh blood competition. WiFi download of flights straight from LX computers again this summer?

weight by David Smith
A boatbuilding friend set me on the right lines when he came to repair a glass fibre dinghy. Apparently the resin reinforced glass is porous and only the gellcoat is impervious, so if the gellcoat is cracked or damaged it will absorb moisture. He recommended thorough drying before refinishing. When...

Weight & Bal Calc ASK-21 by roccos
Anyone have a simple wt. & bal calc method for ASK-21? The manual is all in German and makes no sense. Power-plane manuals are simple to use with a graph.

Weight and Balance - a micro-rant by Uncle Fuzzy[_2_]
I have a sample size of TWO, so take this or leave it. In BOTH the Speed Astir and Janus C log books, some previous owner had made pen-and-ink' changes to the distance from the main wheel to the tail wheel.. In BOTH cases, the factory figure was correct, and the ink changes incorrect. When...

weight and balance question by Duster
Our club needs to do a weight and balance on our Grob 103 after refinishing and some other mods. We are wanting to use calibrated/certified scales, but the cost of having it weighed or purchasing a set of scales is quite high.. What have others done to get their W&B completed yet not break the...

Weight or wing loading? by Jim Lewis[_2_]
Does wing loading have any affect on thermalling ability of a glider (pilot's ability is another topic)? I am ignoring here the smaller turn radius, and so greater ability of a lighter wing-loaded glider to work narrow-diameter thermals. In a given thermal with a diameter that can be worked with...
