Dynamic Soaring by
AS
Ran across this link showing a RC glider being flown at 548mph (882km/h)! The video is dizzying to watch and one can barely follow the glider going through 120g turns. Would be cool if we could replicate this in a more survivable way for the pilot and glider. I know it has been done in the past but...

LX5000 vs LX7000 by
[email protected]
Since I’m on a tear asking things I always wondered about (it’s snowy here) I’ve always wondered what the difference is between the last version of the LX5000 and the LX7000? Was it a marketing decision or were there actual improvements?

Was in the midst of back and forth correspondence with Trevor when all lines of communication stopped suddenly. I believe he flies out of Minden or somewhere up there.
If anyone has a reliable way to contact or has been in touch in the last 30 days please message me directly.

NTSB Kobe by

Spatial disorientation.
No real surprises.
Wes, since you stalk my posts, pass this on to George, I think you have to be pretty stupid to fly aircraft that aren't equipped or certified into IMC on purpose.

Drag of Transponder Antennae compared by
AS
Interesting home-brewed investigation into the drag between the fin-type and rod-type transponder antenna by one of our friends in The Netherlands.
Seems like the fin type antenna - unless mounted exactly on the centerline of the glider, where the flow is expected to be parallel - may produce a lot...

Any good reasons not too?
I realize you have to remember to hook it up and disconnect it after flight, and if you bailed under a...
