How was Bicester's fly in? Has anyone any pictures or anything? I'm sure there were great stories shared and a lot of memories retold. Anyone?

Motor gliders in Standard and 15-meter class? by wiktor256
Is the definition of Standard and 15-meter classes in the U.S.A. different from the FAI definition as it pertains to motor gliders? As I understand the current U.S. National FAI Class Rules, motor gliders are not allowed in the Standard and 15-meter Nationals unless an engine is disabled. I did...

We need an ASW-19 rebirth for $25,000 by [email protected]
What we need in soaring is a new glider built for a reasonable price. $150,000 for a new glider is just not even a consideration for most people. Let's face it, you can get a low mileage Ferrari for half that price! The PW-5 was a terrible failure. The engineers made the wingspan too short,...

Make Sailplane Racing Great Again by [email protected]
You will only improve if you are honest with yourself and admit your weaknesses. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. A tow rope looses 50% of its strength with a knot it in. For those who have tasted flight, their eyes will be forever turned skyward.. And for those who have tasted...

MAT's are dangerous by [email protected]
Let's go back in time to August 4th 2010. The sport of soaring lost a well respected man named Chris O'Callaghan. It was the 4th fatal sailplane accident in 4 weeks. This was a wake up call to many pilots operating without Flarm or Parachutes. Chris was flying on the return leg of a task when...

Kerry-covers ? by Will Greenwood
Hi, I'm worried that after sending my money to Kerry-Covers, I have asked for a conformation of the order and heard nothing, so they have my money and after 3-4 weeks no covers, has anyone else had this problem? Other members at my gliding club(UK) have recieved their covers promptly, but after...

Capacity flask sizes for older PZL and Winter varios. by [email protected]
One of the varios just failed in my older glider. The Winter 5m/s is kaput. There's also a 1m/s unit that appears to be working. Both are from 1963. A friend gave me a PZL 10kt unit that appears to be working. He can't remember what it came out of. Anyone have specs on these older units? I would...

Adhesive for wing bumper pads by william geiger
I need to reattach one. What adhesive would work? I think I put this one on with rubber cement and got 10 plus years service but was wondering if there is a better solution for getting the flat surface of the rubber bumper to adhere to the curved wing surface.
