Crows? by
Colin Roney
I`m searching for good ideas how to deter crows from landing on my glider,
which is picketted out during the season, from wrecking my weather covers?

New member so bare with me, but PW5, how does she fly? by
Howard Lau
I'm a rather new glider pilot and I am about to fly on the PW5 as my instructor deems me to be competent after training on the G103, I've seen photos and the glider seems small and the wingspan is only 10 meters or so, so I was wondering how she flies. Any PW-5 experiences?
Thanks!
Happy gliding!

Water ballast rookie question by
Tom Nau
I fly an ASW-28. The under-surface of the wing has a nice little piece
of plastic that covers the dump valve and which is hinged by a piece
of cloth tape. When flying with water ballast my assumption is that
correct procedure is to leave the piece of plastic in place, but open
and hanging down from...

Important News from the USA # 711 reporting. by
[email protected]
I just spoke with Charlie Spratt, he is at home and doing OK. He is
going back for more surgery mid-June which will cause him to be unable
to make the contest scene for the rest of 2005. He is in good spirits
and I said I would post this. His search for a kidney is still going
on, but he has some...

lift on the Sierras? by
Hellman
I fly a motor glider out of the San Francisco Bay Area and frequently
head over the Sierras to the good soaring. My question has to do with
lift on the Sierras themselves.
I've occasionally been able to soar on them, but most of the time find
them marginal at best. Clouds which would indicate...

Handicap bargains by
Ian Cant
I notice that a Schweizer 2-32 with a published L/D
of 33 is handicapped at 1.500. This seems like a great
bargain, the same as a Falke SF-25C at 1.500 but with
only about 22 L/D. Are there other equally great deals
out there ? Or any outstandingly heavily handicapped
types ?

My Ventus 2cxM has been flying in the Experimental Category since new (2003), and each year I've been faithfully updating the Experimental Letter (I just change the date) and mailing it to my FSDO. I've been told that the wording of the standard Experimental Letter is different now, and if I...
