Test flight ballast ideas? by
[email protected]
Can anyone give me some ideas for temporary, but securable weight
ballasts? The situation is we're preparing for FAA required test
flights on our FIRST production aircraft. Weight will most likely need
to be positioned in the right seat area, and/or in the limited baggage
area behind the two...

My First Homebuilt by
choptopjim
I bought a started Homebuilt project from a Guy who passed on before finishing the build. His work is Top Notch and I don't think I will have any trouble getting his work accepted when I have the EAA people inspect the project. I believe that getting someone to look things over now is the best way...

Question about epoxy resin chemistry.. by
Chris
Hello everyone.
I am attempting to find a suitable epoxy resin in SE Asia (Thailand
specifically) for building a composite airplane.
It doesn't appear that any recognized brands are sold here, however
there are factories that produce epoxy of all kinds.
However, in order to get the correct epoxy...

opinion on this, I have a 300 X 600 foot long strip with obstructions
on the end of the 600...

Hi everyone,
I'm just trying to educate myself about composite construction
techniques, and I'm a little confused on the process of using prepreg
materials in an autoclave. Could someone who has done this help me
understand the process?
Assuming I have prepreg cloth and access to a large...

Modifying Vision plans for retractable gear... by
Chris
Dear All:
I am researching various options for a homebuilt aircraft. I am
located in Thailand, and over here labor is significantly more
obtainable than money, so cost is definitely a primary concern. Build
time can always be compensated for by enlisting help. Based on what I
want, it appears that...

Engine Desing by
Chris W
As most of you probably know the opposing cylinders on most engines are
slightly offset to allow for the piston connecting rods to attach to the
crank at different spots. I know of a few model airplane engines, where
instead of having the cylinders offset and having the connecting rods...

calculate the position of an airplane throughout a 1G roll. The reason
I'm doing this is so I can build a "roll track" for a remote control car
so the car will alway have a positive g force on it to keep it on the

Flap design question by
Chris W
I have been looking at some of the pics people at Oshkosh have been
posting and was wondering
about the design of the flaps on some of these planes. Instead of the
whole trailing edge of the wing
hinging down like most planes I am familiar with, only the bottom skin
of the trailing edge hinged...
