Problem: Ground Speed Estimate with Volkslogger and WinPilot by
RamyYanetz
I noticed the same problem with my winpilot/VL, although I don't think it has
anything to do with VL, since the ground speed is correct in the NAV box, but
incorrect only in the final glide display. I reported this problem to Jerry
last year, not sure if it was fixed in later releases.

noise by
G.A. Seguin
Hi,
My DG200 has developed a loud noise from the canopy seam, it is a 2
piece canopy wich open to the rear. I tried open cell foam
from the hardware store and silicone, no success. When I closed the
side vent
the noise stop. Any suggestion?
Regards,
Gilles

Towing with VW Bora diesel? by

Many pilots here use petrol-guzzling sport-utility vehicles to tow their

turbo-diesel is up to the task.
You forgot to tell us the weight of your trailer incl.discus...

using winch instead of aerotow by
goneill
Our club has gradually moved to winch over the last few years and now we use
ordinary aerotow rope on the winch (its cheap, made everywhere ,easy to
splice
and wears extremely well)Rope bungees slightly so pilots have to be trained
how to keep an even load on the cable (makes you a smoother pilot as...

Pilot weight and gliding by
JohnH
Hello,
I'm just now learning about Gliding and will start instruction soon.
Question: I'm 6ft tall and weigh 232 lbs. Have I weighed myself out of
many sailplane options? I DO plan on losing some more weight, but just
in case I don't, would appreciate some knowledge on this :) The
instructor...

VALUE of a DG-100 by
[email protected]
There does not seem to be a lot ot these ships on the used market so
it's difficult to get price history. I would appreciate your input as
to a fair market value for a DG-100 with basic insturments, older
radio and a homemade trailer. Thanks all!

Options for disabled glider pilot by
Allan Smits
I've just gotten bitten by the glider bug, but as a right arm amputee, I
am not sure of how to proceed given the challenges of flight control
operation, primarily dealing with simultaneous flight stick and spoilers
on final approach. Are there any other disabled glider pilots out there
with similar...

Thanks, just curious.

Experience with Sun Tiger sunglasses by
David Sieber
Amongst the Soaring Communitity does anyone have experience with Sun
Tiger sunglasses. I saw the ad in Soaring and wanted to cut through
the ad-hype. I would appreciate comments concerning the quality of
them filling prescriptions.
Thanks in Advance.

So the FAA books recommend flying at least 20NM away from isolated

Navigational Question of the day. by
JJ Sinclair
Brion got most of the correct answers to the last NQD, so now a new one:
While heading for my selected turn point, I center the turn arrows on my
Cambridge GPS and notice that my bearing and track are the same, but my
sailplane is pointed a good 15 degrees left of the turn point. Why?
