Papa3[_2_]
A unique weather pattern has set up, resulting in very strong S to SSE flow in the central and eastern Appalachians. A number of gliders operating out of Blairstown are attempting speed tasks. Bill Thar (BT) flying a Duckhawk is visible on the SSA Tracker site. He appears to be almost to his...

Help using tablet to transfer files to OLC by
[email protected]
I have just acquired a Toshiba tablet and was hoping to use it as means to transfer log files to OLC. Seems that there is a problem between the files I now successfully put on a flash drive and use my laptop to send to OLC; something to do with the tablet working on a different format.
Bearing in...

Centre of gravity, flaps and elevators by
plantain
So, my understanding is that as a general rule in flying, the further aft the centre of gravity, the less drag.
This is because as the centre of gravity moves further ahead of the centre of lift, the higher the torque that must be counteracted by the horizontal stabilizer generating downforce. If...

Oudie Issues by

I have an early model Oudie 1, and lately the internal GPS has been dropping out on me. Is anyone else experiencing intermittent GPS drop outs?
I suspect that it may be heat related, but I wanted to see if anyone else is having similar problems. The last few times this has happened it was rather...
