Need Help by
Bob Youngblood
Just recently bought a Pawnee in Mt. Sterling , Illinois. Plan on possibly taking it apart to ship to Florida. Are there any glider guys out there that would be willing to give me a hand in taking the ole girl apart for shipping? I am willing to pay for help and probably all the beer you can drink....

Rear Seat Scoring by
Bob Youngblood
I happen to be looking at some OLC scoring and noticed that there were rear seat ride along customers scoring flights on OLC as if they were the PIC. Is there any provision for making sure that the ride along is not permitted to score the flight as if they were the primary scoring individual.

Weather Finally Changing by
Bob Youngblood
It is about time, the weather here in South Florida is finally changing, yes fall is upon us and the soaring weather is getting better.
After a dismal summer and an October that was about like July the cooler dry air has made it south. I flew yesterday for about 3 hours and got to about 6K AGL....

Becker by
Bob Youngblood
I made the trip from Vero to Margate today to have my transponder repaired. You always have choices to make about what kind of avionics to buy. Well, I will never buy anything other than Becker. I was greeted at the door by Alejandro and my unit was immediately taken into the test facility for...

Florida WX by
Bob Youngblood
December is by record our dry month with an average rainfall of 2 inches followed by January and February as our dry season. Far from the average rainfall it has been an extremely unusual wet winter. In December alone we had 5 inches of rain in a 24 hour period. The ground is soaked and the soaring...

We Didn't Row The Boat Around Lake O !! by

Things are going well here in Florida this week, lots of activity up in Clermont for the Seniors contest. Things down in South Florida are going well also, with a few good flights of our own. Todd Roy and myself both flew around Lake O, our flights were on different days and in opposite directions....

Here we are in Florida with a lockdown and the clouds are looking good for a great day of soaring tomorrow. So I will tell all of you about the ant and the elephant.
The two were great friends, they went to the movies together and after exiting the movie the elephant fell into a big hole and could...

Best Flight Of the Day NA by
Bob Youngblood
I have been looking at OLC and trying to make a determination as to had the best flight of the day in North America. Now listen, no politics here, just flight evaluation and the cut off time is midnight on the East Coast. No flaming liberals shall post. Bob

Sobering Summer Is Here by
Bob Youngblood
Looks like the weather gods have sprung upon Florida and the soaring season is skeptical with thunder boomers and tropical storms and hurricanes. With the absence of the Bermuda High the influence of the tropics is upon us. Just yesterday we had twelve inches of rain and some areas had even more....

Pacific Aero Tow Hook by
Bob Youngblood
After long discussions with the manufacturer I purchased the new and improved Pacific Aero tow hook. The components arrived yesterday and I was quiet impressed with the design and quality of the hook. This hook has been designed so that the connecting ring cannot slip forward which would allow...

Nano Eliminated Takeoff Location by
Bob Youngblood
Took a flight yesterday and tried to upload. All of the information was on the Nano except it did not record the takeoff location and will not allow me to upload. I guess the internal GPS in the unit failed to pick up the coordinates. Any suggestions? Thanks, Bob

Tow Immunity Syndrome by
Bob Youngblood
Our tow pilot seems to be suffering from a new disease that we have diagnosed as TOW IMMUNITY SYNDROME. I guess this happens when you get a bit older and don't see things as you once did.
Let me describe the symptoms and please let me know of a remedy. First, he has lost a bit of spunk, shows up...

Pawnee gascolator strap needed by
Bob Youngblood
I have been working on getting a Pawnee ready for towing and I need a connector strap and wire fastener for the gascolator. It is the same strap that goes on a Comanche and Pawnee. Let me know if you have one that you can depart with. Bob 772-453-9999

Message From Katie by
Bob Youngblood
Yesterday morning I received a message from one of our club members which I found to be inspirational and moving. Katie, simply texted me saying that she was headed south on 95 instead of north toward the gliderport and instead of flying she was taking her first round of chemo.
She asked me to...

Visit From A Great Guy by
Bob Youngblood
Yesterday I landed the Pawnee and noticed a guy standing next to a vehicle speaking with one of our tow pilots. The closer I got I could see that it was a spitting image of one of my late old friends. I could hardly hold back my comments, "you look exactly like your father", it was the son of E9,...
