Charlie Papa[_2_]

Spiral Dives Explanation. by
Sandy Stevenson
I've been looking for an expalantion of the aerodynamics of how an aircraft
gets into a spiral dive. Mostly I've found lots explanations of what the
signs
are and how to recover, but those are things I already know. I've gathered
that
it's related to lateral stability, and that the wings are not...

stab/elevator gap seal question by
Brad[_2_]
I've heard that on some sailplanes, putting a mylar gap seal on the
top surface can cause handling issues. Anyone care to comment on that?
I've added a mylar seal and the safety tape to the top of mine, and it
does indeed add a small step just ahead of the elevator, despite my
best attempts at...

Hi, I was searching for material to study, to increase
my ability to understand the soaring weather in my

2-32 Speeds? by
John Seaborn
The SGS 2-32 has two categories of critical speeds, the "High
Performance" and "Utility" depending on gross weight.
Looking through the flight manual I see that at 1430lb max gross
Utility Category stall is estimated at 47mph. Red Line in this
category is 139 mph. What I do not see is the Caution...

Looking for brush/trim for flap/spoiler handle slots by

My original brush-like trim that 'covers' the slots inside the cockpit of my
LS-6 are worn down and I'd like to replace them.
Anyone know of a source for these "brushes"?
They're black nylon, about 3/4 inch wide, and serve to close the slots the
controls exit from, yet still allow their...
