New Pilot tracking questions by
BMOC
New to soaring and I am a bit overwhelmed by all the different tracking options out there. ADS-B, Spot, etc.
Which ones are recreational and which (if any) live tracking devices are used for OLC contests etc? Are people using loggers and then uploading the info for the contests or are they using...

glider, then trying to register it here in the US, getting an

Need to know the processses and approximate cost, if possible.
Thanks!

the participants flight logs. No need to download .igc files anymore,
as they can be viewed directly...

Cobra trailer trim. by
Bob
Does anyone have any experience or comments on replacing the vinyl trim
that runs the length on both sides of the trailer. (Mine has faded over
the years but otherwise good.)
What's involved and how difficult?
Thanks,

Tow pilot PIC by
Bob
Did I read, or did I imagine it, that here in the US when a glider is
being towed, the tow pilot is the Pilot In Command of that combination
and as such, is the final authority of that flight?
Are there any FARs to support my curiosity?
Thanks,
Bob

(USA) Handicapping... by
Bob
Just noticed the Region 6 North contest going on at the moment and
wondered how they work the handicaps for a combined 15M $ STD Class
contest. It appears as though all the 15M are handicaped at 1.0 and
the Std at something else. How is it done officially?

I am trying to get a handle on the number of active soaring pilots in
the US for some statistical studies. In 2003 John Roake from New

also stated that the FAA and SSA numbers were not representative. I am

Russia AC4-M for sale by

My partner and I decided to sell our Russia motorglider since neither of us
