Piper Pathfinder Article by
john smith
The April 2004 PLANE&PILOT has a review of the 1974 Piper Pathfinder.
A table at the end of the article compares the 74 Pathfinder to the 74
Skylane.
I don't think Jay is going to be flying over Pike's Peak (14,110 feet)
unless he gets a Cessna. :-)

Weathervaning by
Koopas Ly
Just a quick question...
During a crosswind landing, for instance a left crosswind, you'd lower
the left, upwind wing to counter the right drift induced by the
crosswind.
You'd also use some right rudder to keep the nose straight and prevent
it from "weathervaning".
Is this "weathervaning...

Tomahawk 125 hp STC performance? by
virtuPIC
Well, there is this kit to boost your Tomahawk to 125 hp. However, so
far I could not find statements on speed gain and fuel burn.
So my questions are
o How fast do you go with it?
o How much fuel do you burn?
Thanks

Iced up Cirrus crashes by
Dan Luke
The more of these Cirrus accidents I read about, the more I'm convinced
that Cirrus has a serious marketing/training problem:
http://www.duluthsuperior.com/mld/duluthsuperior/business/10853388.htm
I'm not convinced there is anything wrong with the aircraft per se.
What seems to be happening is...

Your very own suspected terrorist by
Michael
I have often wondered, with GA under increased scrutiny, how long it
would be before one of us was investigated as a suspected terrorist.
I never thought I would be first.
I came home from the airport last night to find a business card stuck
in the door of my apartment. It had the embossed gold...

DA 42 accident by
Karl-Heinz Kuenzel
Hi.
Here in Germany we had an accident with a brand new DA 42 in Speyer
(EDRY) on 3-4-07 during take off.
It seems, that the battery was down and both engine were started with
remote power.
After take off when retracting the gear, the props feathered and both
engines stopped.

MXSMANIC - The posts don't add up by
John Theune
He has been posting quite a bit lately and a recurring theme has been he
flys sims because he can't afford to fly planes. He has made mention of
a monthly income of 650.00 per month and his inability to earn more.
However I've also seen him write on detailed medical and mathematical
subjects...

Feds Want to Equipe Gliders With Transponders and Radios by
Larry Dighera
If this is implemented, will it affect powered aircraft without
electrical systems too?
How much does the gliders right-of-way over powered aircraft affect
this issue?
Is ATC going to take legal and financial responsibility for separation
if gliders are mandated to be so equipped and...

Straight-ins at uncontrolled airports? by
Danny Deger
I haven't flown in a while, but am in the market for a used plane.
I recalling hearing somewhere that straight-in approaches are now approved
at uncontrolled airports. Is this correct?

Clouds and Class B by
Mxsmanic
You've been cleared into Class B VFR, and you've been assigned a heading.
After a while you see that your heading will take you through some clouds, and
you asked to be cleared on a different heading, 40 degrees to the right. ATC
says unable and gives a plausible reason why. What do you do?

Do you flight plan? by
Nasir
Having received my PPL recently and been on several cross countries, I was
wondering how extensive of a flight plan do people prepare before the trip?
Do you guys do all the checkpoints on a map, calculate time/distance/fuel to
each leg? Do you just draw the line on the map and mark checkpoints...

Flying is Life - The Rest is Just Details by
Michael
Every so often, we have people post here and complain. Flying isn't
useful. It's too expensive. It's inconvenient. The customer service
at FBO's is terrible, and the planes are always broken. It's taking
forever to solo and the CFI (is always late/is just looking to move
up/has no clue/is...
