SSA Convention at Reno, February 26 thru March 1 by
Burt Compton - Marfa Gliders, west Texas
Another wonderful SSA Convention just ended at Reno. Wish the SSA held a convention every year, like we used to. I cannot comprehend why our SSA Directors voted for every other year. It's not about the vendors as much as it's for our members. It's about seeing old friends and making new ones. ...

Knauff and Grove - how to reach by
Mark Palmer[_2_]
Does anyone know how to reach Knauff and Grove? We've been trying for several weeks to reach them by phone and email regarding an order we placed in February. We have not received any return messages and their phone mailbox is now full.
Thanks,
Mark and Alice

FLARM and ADS-B Discussions by
Dave Nadler
I've received a number of requests for the FLARM and ADS-B information formerly hosted on the now-defunct GliderPilot.org, so I put a copy on my website and
updated the links he http://www.nadler.com/public/NadlerSoaringIndex.html
The information is mostly still current (though there are a few...

RIP 271 by
MNLou
I'm sorry to report that Jim Hard - 1-26 pilot extraordinaire - has taken his final glide.
He died peacefully yesterday evening in the hospital surrounded by friends and family.
He will be missed by many - both within and outside the Minnesota Soaring Club.
Good finish 271!
Lou

WGC2020 training / Pre-Worlds by
[email protected]
Hi,
I hope this is a good channel to reach potential contestants for the WGC2020 in 18m/Open/Doubleseater classes. There will be an official communication to the gliding associations soon.
We just opened the registration for the WGC training competition. The contest will be part of the German...

March and April Soaring...where? by
vtcyclist
If one were to have some time for a month long road trip in March and/or April to tow their glider (DG-300) somewhere and fly, where would you suggest.. Florida, Texas and New Mexico come to mind, but I do not have soaring experience in those places. Especially that early in the year.
Other...

3-4 day Regional contests by
[email protected]
DISCLOSU This is completely self serving.
When people discuss what limits pilot participation in contests - TIME does pop up as an issue. (yes there are many others, but let's stick to TIME here)
Has anyone had experience with running a Regional contest that was 3 or 4 days rather than than 7...

SN10 feature feedback - external moving map, etc? by
Dave Nadler
SN10 pilots - I'm fooling with external moving map support.
The idea is to give a nice map, with final-glide range and
task, echoing the SN10 setup (and winds, polar, etc).
Reduces page-flipping on SN10.
For example: Kobo display of SN10 task info (using XCsoar
or TopHat).
Please contact me...

Thread Drift, Safety, Puchacz and Cal City by
CindyB[_2_]
This won't make much sense, unless you have followed the thread on "Death of a Gliderport".
To rectify the drift, I began a new thread, Jim. Is this a slip or a crab?
I agree that I have talked a lot about glider safety, over many years. :-)
I disagree that I avoided addressing Russ Dervaes...
