Well, Charlie called a 3 turn TAT, with # 38-20 miles, # 37-25 miles
and #16-25 miles then home. It was for 3 hrs, with a 8,000 agl start
height. I didn't hear of any landouts, somewhere around 25-30 took
tows. Alot of starts around 1:30 to 1:45, with opens going a little
later. Around 5 pm it went...

Our ramp is filling up fast as our first practice day is
tomorrow, June 30th. Pilots meeting is at 9:30 am and we grid at 12
noon. We are expecting nearly a full grid for the practice day.
Weather the last week has been warm and blue. It should stay that way
until maybe Tuesday when we think we may...

Wednesday, June 6th. Winds, rain and cells moving thur in the am
hours. 50 kts at 2000 agl, and high wind warnings this afternoon gave
the CD enough information to call it a day at the pilots meeting.
Thursday is the last day, and we have 3 contests "in", so need
something for tomorrow.

The cannon was fired, at 10 am and the pilots meeting was
called to order. Patty Smith, the contest manager said a brief "HI" and
then introducted the CD Dick Butler. Dick explained it was important to
be nice to the CD, as he has always been, as someday you may be the CD.

Well folks, I am out here in Warner Springs, enjoying
Region 12 South. Today, as you can see on the SSA website, some folks
put down some speeds. We even had the towpilots go up in a Grob twin,
and end up with 1143 guest points. Ya, they had the best times of their

Rolled into Hobbs several days ago. Yesterday, big
thunderstorm early afternoon, with heavy rains and winds. No one flew,
several were ready, but we had no towplane. Today, Dick Mockler flew
in for afternoon tows. Right now, the sky isn't to promising, but
several are ready, if things get better....

Marble canyon, which is up behind my home, got hit with 5-8
inches of rain and hail in less that an hour. A wall of water came out
of the canyon, and took out numerous homes. It happened in a very short
time frame. Cars were floating down the street, with people still in

Just did some business with Paul at Cumulus Soaring. He
evened helped out getting some wiring information for me. When his
shipping charges turn out lower, he refunds that amount to you. When I
checked out, the charges for shipping were $5.95., But they turned out
less, so he refunded that amount...
