Auto Pilots by
[email protected]
So I own a 1961 Cessna 172. She's a great little airplane, light on
fuel burn, and not too bad on the airspeed, although she could do
better. I want an autopilot to start taking her on long trips. I'm
trying to do it as cheaply as possible but still legal obviously.
Anyone know of autopilots that...

radial engine torque by
[email protected]
Hi,
I have noticed by watching the videos at http://www.fulldeflection.com
, that the radial engines of the Sukhoi etc, allow more vertical
penetration, but all the Red Bull Air Race planes have boxer engines.
I would have thought that the radials would have more engine torque,
thus pulling the...

The Cessna Aircraft Company stock certificates by

A friend of mine has two Cessna Aircraft Company stock certificates,
one from 1970 for 5 shares and another from 1978 for 5 shares.
Does anyone know if these have any value?
Also, if you are interested in aviation you might enjoy my "All Things

First flight in our "new" Ercoupe... by
Jay Honeck[_2_]
A few months ago a group of us "pilots with kids" realized that our
pilot-rated children could no longer afford to fly even the clapped-out
rental 150s at our local FBO. Over a few beers, we started plotting a way to
help.
All of us were already aircraft owners -- but we all owned...

True Cost Of Twin Ownership by
Mark T. Dame
A friend and I are considering purchasing an airplane sometime in the
next year or so and we are looking at high performance singles and light
twins. We're pretty much up to speed on the ownership costs of a
Saratoga or similar, but we're not real clear on what a light twin like
a Baron or 310...

Depression after Washing by
Charles Talleyrand
My kid and I just washed the plane. Even after washing it, there are
still chips of paint missing, a bit of rust, a drip-stain of fuel, and
so on. The panel looks like it has been modified every once in a
while since 1966. My plane is relatively nice compared to the other
ones on the field, but...

Beal AFB TFR ??? by
Tri-Pacer
Planning a trip from Tacoma, WA to San Diego I find a security TFR for Beal
AFB that seems to be renewed on a daily basis. It looks like they have
extended the Class C top all the way up to 18,000.
Will they clear you through it, or must you go around? I'll be around 7500'
and if I can't go...

I dedicated my last couple of flights (as well as a flight

clouds from the top down and that's what my latest video has been
focused on. Images and videos are from the past three weeks. After
all, why do we own planes in the...

DHMO for cleaning off bugs by
Jon Woellhaf
After a short 1.5 hour sightseeing flight today I tried using 100% DHMO to
clean the bugs off the leading edges. It worked surprisingly well. Despite
my precautions, I got a little in my eyes and a lot on my hands and arms,
but I haven't noticed any adverse effects yet.
