If the VOR is off by 30 degrees, is the adjustment in the indicator or the
radio? |

If the VOR is off by 30 degrees, is the adjustment in the indicator or the radio? It depends on the radio and indicator. Some do decoding and adjustment in the indicator, some in the radio. One of those little details that an avionics show owner warned me about -- and why some radios would not work with the display indicators I had, while others would. Alan |

KX-170 was replaced with MX-170B. Glideslope Indicator is KI-208. _______________EK. An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind.~ M.K. Gandhi. "Alan" wrote in message ... If you take the knob off there is a spline screw behind it that you can adjust it with. If its an old head it may just go right back to being off 30 degrees on the next flight though. Those heads are older than many pilots on the airport. -Robert |

Depending on what you have installed you may have to remove other stuff to get it out (I have a Mooney so any removal requires lots of moving stuff around). I'm not sure if you can get a new band for it though. The old King heads that are driven by the KX-170B/MX-170B/etc don't have any new parts made. You may find someone who bought a bunch when they stopped making them but those guys are running out quick. Its not unusual to have to dump those heads because you can't find a part. Usually your best bet is to buy a dead one on eBay and get parts off it. -Robert |
