Brazov IS29-D2 Lark parts needed. by [email protected]
I have a 1979 Brazov IS29-D2 Lark. The rubber donuts are starting to wear out and get brittle on the main gear shock absorber. Does anyone know where I could get replacements? Either used from another glider, or manufactured new by someone who can match the donuts to the original spec?

Break-in for our newly overhauled towplane engine by [email protected]
Just wanted to fish for the procedures and experiences out there on this subject. Our overhauler and our mechanic both say no towing for 10-18 hours.... We can do this, of course, but we are eager to get back to towing as soon as we can. Any experience or procedures out there that might get us...

Breakers as Switches - Good Idea? by Six-Seven Romeo
I often see GA and gliders that use breakers as switches. Is this such a good idea? Are breakers rated to be used as switches? These aircraft usually, but not always, have at least a master switch. Our tow plane uses Tyco W31 series breakers which incorporate bat handles and are designed to be...

Brief Honolulu Soaring Visit by Michael[_7_]
Hi all, As part of my University job, I provide technical support to three academic conferences a year. Our summer one this year was in Honolulu, Hawaii and I just got back. (Jet lag is killing me. It’s 11 pm in Houston and I am not the least bit tired and work calls at 8 am tomorrow!) My...

Brief review of Android XCSoar on the Streak 5 and LK8000 on the MIO 400 by Mike[_8_]
Just received a Streak 5, updated to Froyo and installed XCSoar for Android, and thought I would compare it to the MIO 400 with LK8000 that I used last year and give a quick review. First of all, if you purchase a Streak 5 on Ebay, expect to pay about $300-$400.00. If it is a used Streak like I...

Briegleb BG-12B? by [email protected]
I bought a hangar a while back that has a wood glider project. Fuselage, stab and fin seem pretty much assembled. One wing is a skeleton and there is an assortment of pieces. I have NO PAPERWORK OF ANY KIND except for one badly faded construction drawing on which I was able to make out a model...

Bright LED indicator for PowerFlarm by bumper[_4_]
The audio alert warning on the PowerFlarm works as intended in gliders. However, in self-launch or motorgliders while the engine is on and in tow planes, the audio is of no use unless connected through to the headset. I find a bright LED indicator gets my attention, so built this as a portable...
