F2A-3 ventral window? by
old hoodoo
I have seen conflicting references as to whether the F2A-3 had the ventral window. Does anyone know for certain. I have yet to
find an F2A-3 photo showing the belly.

f2A1/b-239 update pensacola by
old hoodoo
Apparently a decision has been made to reassemble the aircraft to its
just recovered state and do preservation work on items needing
stabilization and to leave the current paint on the aircraft for the
present (good decision). Will be interesting to see it all together as
when originally photo'd...

F2A2-American Zero? by
old hoodoo
I have been looking over the performance data on the A6M2. Although
examination of the A6M2 showed that we could have built a fighter like the
zero but sacrificed performance for pilot/plane protection overall
performance considering all factors. The F2A3 was not, being built for
extreme long...

F2H-F7U-P4M-UF-1 and R6D photos posted by
Greasy Rider @invalid.com
I just posted some pictures over in alt.binaries.pictures.aviation
from 1956 in Port Lyautey French Morocco showing the above named
aircraft. If I had known I was witnessing history I would have gotten
closer to the Cutlasses.

F4D article in Air & Space magazine by
DDAY
The new issue of Air & Space magazine has an article about the F4D Skyray.
It goes into the positives and negatives of the aircraft's performance. The
positive was that at altitude, that big delta wing gave it great turning
performance.
The negatives, however, were pretty severe. At approach to...

F4U-5 ferry range by
[email protected]
I am writing a story involving the F4U-5 Corsair. The various websites
list the combat range but none shows a ferry range with full fuel and
drop tanks. Does anyone know the max ferry range with attached gas
tanks?
Thanks,
Sac Writer

F8 Crusader Variable Incidence Wing by

The Vought F8 Crusader was the only production military aircraft I
know of with a variable incidence wing. This feature was used to
improve pilot visibility on take off and landing, a critically
important thing for a carrier plane; several aircraft such as the
earlier Vought Cutlass and Douglas...
