Is lateral acceleration an accurate indication of slip? by
jschall
I am a former student pilot (with about 15 hours) who is developing an autonomous UAV.
I've read contradicting reports that lateral acceleration is and isn't an accurate indication of slip. The inclinometer ("the ball") in a full scale/manned airplane measures lateral acceleration.
I've read that...

Where to go for on-field camping near Texas? by
[email protected]
I am thinking of renting a 172 and going for overnight camping within 4
hours flying distance of North Dallas.
I am an AOPA member and I did a search for the fields that allow
camping but without descriptions, it is hard to decide.
It would be nice to hear from others who have done this.
All we...

Travel to Hyannis by
Andrew Gideon
Any recommendations for flying into Hyannis (KHYA)? It's in my plans for
next week.
I have to admit: I'm a little worried about it. I saw on the Jepp plate
that one must contact airport ops, before shutdown, for an escort. That
doesn't sound friendly.
Thanks...

Trying Lazy 8 Question Again by
Dick[_1_]
Let's forget anything I said about the Unusual Attitudes Course and Modified
Wing Overs, etc and just address doing a smooth Lazy 8 for my wife's
benefit.
My procedure for the Lazy 8: entry at 15/15* P&B, then up to 30/30* P&B
at 90* to entry and down to 5-10 mph over stall using proper...

E6-B for Palm OS? by
Sandman
I have seen several E6-B calculator utilities for the Palm operating
system, and I was wondering if any of you could recommend (or not
recommend) any of them, I'm looking to score one soon (and any program
that had any features specific for helicopter would be a bonus).
Thanks in advance -

AeroStar Fuel system? by
Al G[_1_]
Could someone fill me in on the Aerostar fuel system? The one in
question is a 602P.
IIRC, Ted Smith designed it as a "Leave it alone and burn all the fuel
in the airplane" type system.
But wasn't there a lawsuit over one years ago?

How to get Aviation Position - Engineer/Business by
Gary G
Hi folks,
Looking for some advise
This might seem strange.
I'm one of those guys who didn't have much "vision" earlier on in life in terms
of what I wanted to do. I got plenty-o-schooling, but feel now, nearing age 37, that
I didn't make the "best choices" in terms of a career that makes me...
