PA32-260 on Auto Fuel by Bruce McFadden
I'm getting really tired really fast of paying $3.30/gal for AvGas, I'm considering buying the STC to use MoGas in my aircraft. Does anyone have the STC and use auto gas. Do you have any comments, warnings or anything else on the subjuct. Thanks in advance. Bruce McFadden ...

Prop Balancing Question by A Lieberman
Past couple of flights, found a screw that was loose on the spinner and actually lost one in flight. A&P replaced them, and said during preflight, check them. If they work their way loose again, need to get the prop balanced. Logs show no maintenance on the prop, so I am sure it's well overdue...

LSA Class? by Larry
Why is the FAA so supportive of this class of flying? Older pilots? passenger allowed? more skill required in bad weather? less reliable powerplants? no FAA medical exam? Less stringent certification of LSA? I can only surmise that the FAA, EAA and MAYBE a need for grooming future military pilots...

Carb Air Temperature Hookup by [email protected]
I'm trying to help a friend on a Fairchild restoration It has an undocumented carb air temp gauge. Looks like an AN type indicator-- cannon plug with 3 pins, A, B & C. The pointer has no zero position so I think it's a ratio measuring device like many fuel gauges. The sender is a resistance...

Observations about oil leaks by Ben Jackson
I bought a PA-24-260 with a verrry slow leak from the prop governor. This has taught me some things about oil leaks. 1) Oil does not go in the obvious direction. Even after you take into account the general airflow around the engine compartment and baffling there are local variations that make...

Remote Power On by Robbie S.
I have been trying to figure out a cheaper alternative to having to pay $369 to purchase a Beeper Box to turn the engine heater on in my hanger from a remote location an hour or two before I fly. Before I try and re-invent the wheel, does anyone know of a product on the market that could do the...

Malibu conversion to Diesel? by E. Glaser
Hello, with the current developments and progress in GA propulsion technology, I am wondering if someone already works on a conversion of a Malibu/Mirage into a "Thielert Diesel Malibu". This could, at least in Europe and some other parts of the world, make sense!? Does anyone have an idea? Does...

CESSNA LSA by john smith
According to AvWeb, Cessna says they are going to have a hard time producing their LSA for under $100,000. That's not going to sell well. Then again, I may be wrong!

High Voltage Light On (Temporarily) by three-eight-hotel
I recently took a flight that brought me back in the late evening hours, and in a hurry, I was a little remiss in my checklist of securing the plane after shutdown. Landing light, taxi light, strobes, beacon, nav lights and transponder were all left on, but the master was shut off. A few days...

Twisted pair wire by Chad Lemmen
Does anyone know where I can get shielded, twisted pair, digital data wire that meets or exceeds MIL-W-27500? This is for data connections between a KDR-510 datalink receiver and a KMD-550 MFD. Aircraft Spruce does not have this, but they do have paired shielded wire, it's just not twisted.

scheduling website by Jim Burns
We've been using www.youcanbookit.com for scheduling our airplane. So far it's been easy and worked great. The best part about it was it was a free/commercial based site. Unfortunately the site has gone down and the owner says it isn't likely to be put back online. What web based scheduleing...

Hi, Could anyone give me a brief overview of the benefits of buying a certified engine over a non-certified engine? Why do manufacturers sell both? Price difference? Does the owner have to get the engine certified after purchasing? Thank you for your help
