Fun with a Variometer, Aka watching paint (water) dry. by Brian[_1_]
Was playing with an old variometer the other day, actually was looking into re-balancing the needle so it reads at 0 instead of 200ft up. As a test I put drop of water on the needle, here a youtube video of what happens.. https://youtu.be/3J76lSd68lg Brian

Felt by Jay Campbell
Many of you use, or could use, felt for lots of things in your trailers (fitments, pads), your dollies, wing stands (maybe). I know that over the years, felt has been a part of every one of my winter's project list. I used to have an industrial supplier "down the street" and got off-cuts from him...

Wing tip wheels, one or several? by [email protected]
Our self-launch glider has downturned wing tips. From the factory, there was nothing more than a skid to make contact with the ground. Over time, people seem to have settled on putting a roller-blade wheel there, presumably because it dramatically improves ground handling. However, the wheel isn't...

Hi, There are no spare canopies from the run. But the same mold is owned by a PIK20 owner in CA, and it could be shipped to the manufacturer in LA for about $200 each way. I can give you more information. Bret

Pawnee gascolator strap needed by Bob Youngblood
I have been working on getting a Pawnee ready for towing and I need a connector strap and wire fastener for the gascolator. It is the same strap that goes on a Comanche and Pawnee. Let me know if you have one that you can depart with. Bob 772-453-9999

Books? by Entelin
It's winter here and I figure I should spend some of the time furthering my book knowledge of soaring. I fly XC and compete, but in hanggliders not sailplanes. I assume there are well regarded books from the sailplane perspective out there. I'm looking specifically for anything that gives me better...

LAK-12 polar for SN10B by GE
Hello, Anyone have a good set of points to indoctrinate an SN10B on the ways of a LAK-12? I cannot quite get the numbers I need from the LAK owner's manual, and the polar is not included in the canned bunch that comes with the ILEC. Nimbus II is close, I suppose, but I'd like to get it...

Some soarindata.info bug fixes (US) by 2KA
I noticed one or two users that had problems when their CUP turnpoint file contained tasks that used numbered turnpoints. In one example, the turnpoint file started with "01Beloit-WI". Any tasks using that turnpoint (or any other numbered one) would get messed up. That issue has been corrected,...
