IMI Self-Rigger Wheels by
AS
Hi all,
I have a set of two (2) unused, brand new pneumatic wheels for an IMI self-rigger for sale. They are the size 4.00 - 4 and fit the standard IMI axle. If your self-rigger needs a little extra height, this is the easiest way of accomplishing that. I had the opposite issue and needed less...

Shooting down UAVs by

I just hope that there is some kind of training involved for the guys doing the shooting so they can tell the difference between a true UAV and a glider....

Radio acting up by

I have a question for all the electronic wizards out there. My radio is only giving a carrier signal but no modulation. I have the following set-up:
Dittel FSG71M
Dittel speaker box F10061 with two DIN connectors for two microphones (only one used)
Dynamic goose neck microphone F10039
I tried both...

PowerFLARM Core by
AS
Hi all in US-glider land!
I am in the process of installing my brand new core and intend to use the Dsub9 connector for power. Can anyone confirm which color cable is connected to pin 7 (+) and pin 5 (-)?
Why do they keep that such a secret - the manual does not give a hint?
I paid good money for...

FLARM Core boot time? by

Hi all in Glider-Land!
Does anyone have a good number for how long it takes or the FLARM Core to boot up?
Background: I am trying to update my Butterfly 57mm round display to the latest revision. The instructions say to connect the USB stick with the update file to the FLARM port, push and hold the...

Dynamic Soaring by
AS
Ran across this link showing a RC glider being flown at 548mph (882km/h)! The video is dizzying to watch and one can barely follow the glider going through 120g turns. Would be cool if we could replicate this in a more survivable way for the pilot and glider. I know it has been done in the past but...

ILEC SN10B for sale by
[email protected]
Greetings all,
I just purchased a used aircraft with an SN10 and a Clearnav in it. I decided to go with the Clearnav, so I'm selling the SN10. They list for 2200 Euros on the German website - I'm happy to offer a bargain so I'll take the first offer of $1000, which I think is a helluva deal.
It...

Sailplane equipment: transponder, transciver 8.33 kHz. by

Hi.
I'm searching for the cheapest SSR transponder and transciver with
8.33 channel separation that could be mounted on a sailplane. I
actually don't know if this must be brand new, its just have to work
properly in Europe.
I've found some products of MicroAir but the price for new stuff is
quite...

US Team Camp Calendar Warning by

Folks,
I recently committed to talk about some European racing techniques highlighted in my World's report at a team camp. The guidelines for when to search for thermals and when to park and exploit others doing the searching are interesting.
The camp will likely be run alongside the Cordele cross...

Glider preparation for a competition by

I'm flying in my first gliding competition this year. I've flown a reasonable number of XC tasks over the last couple of years and thought it would be fun to enter a small local competition.
My glider is in pretty good condition and I'll be polishing it before the competition, but what other tips...

Thermalling Primary Gliders by
[email protected]
I'm interested to know if primary gliders were capable of soaring flights or if they only flew short hops.
The SG 38, for example, has a sink rate of 1.3 m/s so in theory it's possible. I'd be very interested to hear of any stories about soaring one of these gliders.
