Does anyone know how well Sony's "iSweep" panorama mode works in a glider? Does anyone know how visible the screen is on Sony's or Samsung's cameras with OLED screens? -- Eric Greenwell - Washington State, USA (change ".netto" to ".us" to email me)

My deepest sympathy and heartfelt sorrow goes out to my friend Takeshi and every other glider pilot in Japan, during these very difficult times. I hope no-one of the glidng community has been directly injured by such catastrophic events, but I understand the burden will be great on the whole...

2011 Senior Championships, First Official Day. by Walt Connelly
Well the first official day went off well. Hook up crew managed to get everyone airborne in just under an hour. The Japanese guys are great, they work hard and don't seem to tire but neither did I at 19 or 20. I was standing with three of them on my side of the grid prior to launch and asked...

Long story short, I decided to go for broke and change out the two front rubber washers/ O rings in my pitot tube in the tail of my ASW-20B. Years of dry pitot tubes going in and out had taken their toll on the washers and they were starting to leak. Reminder to all - lightly grease your pitot...
