Air scoop popping open at high speed by
Matt Herron Jr.
This weekend I did a high speed run to test some new seals I had installed on the rudder for vibration. VNE is 147 Kts in the Ventus, and so I only took it up to 130 kts IAS (yes I was only at 2000 ft MSL, so altitude was not a factor). At that speed the air scoop on the sliding canopy window...

Cheap GPS Loggers by
KiloKilo[_2_]
We're hoping to have some newbies trying XC next season - and are looking for best cots logger options. I have an older garmim that works fine - but it requires a serial interface. I'm thinking there must be better options.

TE probes by
4Z
I suspect that a repair I did recently on the TE probe on my DG 800B
didn't work. So it's time to get a replacement. My factory probe is
8mm but the end that fits into the receptacle has a small reduced
diameter section (4mm) that must fit into a reduced diameter hole
inside the receptacle. My...

WinPilot PRO 12 or 13 for PNA by
Alexander Müller
I try to get WinPilot PRO 12 or 13 running on a LX Mini Map pro.
I saw in some posts, that people are working with a PNA Pro 12 Version.
On the Winpilot webpage the links are not correct and only guide to an PNA Pro 10 Version or to PNA ADV versions.
Does anyone know, where I can download the...

Toshiba e800 PDA anyone? by
Eric Greenwell
Is anyone using the Toshiba e800 with their soaring software? The larger
than usual 4 inch display, 480 x 640 resolution, and SD and Compact
Flash slots are attractive. I don't know how bright the display is or if
it can connect with a GPS, however.
And does anyone know if any of the Windows OS...

club resources by
Brad[_2_]
When a soaring club provides towplanes to a regional or national
contest, how is a club typically compensated for loaning out their
equipment, or are they?
Is a contest and the use of a club towplane by non-club members seen
as a "commercial" operation? And if so, does the towplane need a 100
hour...

Here's a bit of good news: the Douglas County Commissioners (Minden is
located in Douglas County) have over the past few months realized what
a national treasure their airport is to soaring pilots, and want to
encourage the soaring community to come fly here. In fact a recently
completed Airport...

More on intermittent CAI-302 shutdown by
Frank[_1_]
Yesterday I instrumented the glider 12V power bus with a digital
voltmeter (DVM) so I could independently measure bus voltage if I
experienced another intermittant CAI-302 shutdown. Of couse, the 302
worked perfectly the entire 5-hour flight and its voltage reading
matched the DVM the entire...

G102 Wing Inspection Panel by
Tim[_1_]
Can anybody tell me the diameter of the plexiglass inspection window on the
underside of the wing of a G-102? I forgot to measure it this past weekend
and I'd like to get one made during the week if possible - hate to have to
go back up next weekend just to take the measurement!
Thanks.

Wingmate ?? by

Browsing this group seems to indicate that the Wingmate is no longer
built, so, I'm thinking of building one myself.
I trust Chip won't be offended.
If you have one, I'd be interested in learning what dimensions Chip
used . i.e. Aluminium box section size and wall thickness, and length
of each...
