Hey all, Just got my rating last month. Next time I'm at the field I think I'll be getting into a 1-26 for the first time. I'm nervous about flying a new ship. Is it like driving someone else's car for the first time? Any stories (serious and/or anectodal) on transitioning to a one seater...

Well I did it! My first flight in a 1-26 -- actually my first in anything other than a 2-33. Thanks for all advice. Still grinning :-)

Anyone know offhand what percentage of those with their glider rating ONLY have their glider rating? Seems where I am everyone who flies gliders has their PPL as well. But most of them seem to prefer soaring :-)

I hear that Dick Johnson wrote an evaluation of the ASW19. Anyone have that as a word or pdf file that they could forward on? Or is there a reference of where I could find it in the SSA archives...... help much appreciated, JIM
