Kerry asks Bush to, "Make it go away!" by
OXMORON1
This is all a put on sponsored by Hilliary R. Clintonista..If Kerry were to get
elected, he might get a second term, that would put Hillary in a bad position
having to wait until '12.
With Kerry losing in 04, it sets HRC up to run against a new Republican in '08.

High altitude Helicopter work by
Allen
I am curious about use of a chopper in the higher altitudes of
Afghanistan. The Canadians are in Kabul and the word is our Griffin, a
Bell 412 helicopter, can't work in the mountains. Anyone now why.....
lack of power at altitude, lack of oxygen ?

launching V-1s from an aircraft carrier by
Gordon
Setting the gyros would be the difficult part. The V-1 took quite a while to
set and ship's movement would cause a real problem.

JSF and close air support by
Rob van Riel
Everything I read seems to indicate the JSF is intended to do air to ground
work primarily with high-tech weapons like JDAM bombs. However, I get the
impression that such weapons require a considerable amount of advance planning.
This would seem to make loitering near a combat area waiting for a...

Which Military Service is best? by

Military service
A Soldier, a Sailor, an Airman and a Marine got into an argument about which
branch of the service was "The Best." The arguing became so heated the four
service men failed to see an oncoming truck as they crossed the street. They
were hit by the truck and killed...

best mil+aviation writers? by
Cub Driver
If you were going to name a couple of the greatest writers about
military aviation, who would they be?
I want personal recollections, not history. I'd like names that large
numbers of people would recognize.
Antoine de St Exupery? (Can't stand him, personally, but he seems
beloved)
Ernest Gahn?...

Has the RAF confirmed that their T.1 and F.1 Typhoons are to be

Hubble plug to be pulled by

60 minutes had a piece on Sean O'Keefe's decision to no longer support the
Hubble Space Telescope. His reasoning: it's too risky. Supporting the
space station is okay because if the shuttle is damaged and cannot reenter,
they can always board the ISS and wait for a rescue mission. The...

We keep bringing up presidents/candidates getting shot at (

After all the discussion of Kerry's VN history, I wondered
if we have had any other recent ( last 75 years or so )

Is the following accurate?
"The U.S. Air Force's most expensive bomber is the B-2. It is a stealth
bomber built by Northrop Grumman. Its price tag was near $2 billion per
aircraft. This plane is capable of flying to any target in the world
from its base in the center of the United States and back...
