Solvent for Gap-Seal tape prep by
AS
Hi y'all,
I have to replace the cloth tape gap seal after loosing the one on the rudder in flight. I removed the adhesive residue with GooOff, which worked really well and washed the area with denatured alcohol. The new tape still won't stick very strong. The glider is metal with PU-paint.
What...

Marton K.Sz.
Hi Soaring,
Our club glider (a Grob G-102) is about to get a new PowerFLARM portable unit, which we're planning to install on the top of the instrument panel because of the good visibility of the display.
I've noticed that the Mode-C transponder antenna is also on the top of the instrument panel....

Garrett McEwen
Our club is installing a used 302 and repeater in a two seater. The screw terminal block/strip/connector is missing. I've been thumbing through Mouser and Google Image Search looking for the correct connector with no luck.
Does anyone know where to find one of these terminal strips?
Thank...

These units were discounted 50% for a couple months at the end of last year.. Normally $149.99. Now, various outlets have them on sale again @ $75 thru mail-in rebate. I decided to go for the InReach Expl+ ($450) which has full mapping,...

FIRC recomendatons by
[email protected]
Hi All,
My first CFI-G renewal is coming up.
I have not been able to find any glider focused ones scheduled between now and my September 30th expiration date.
Is it okay to use a non glider (airplane) focused FIRC for a CFI-G renewal?
Any recommendations for a FIRC, I am leaning towards one of...

Medical Cannula with EDS by
[email protected]
A previous RAS topic asked about adapting cheaper medical cannulas to the Mountain High EDS units. I posted a reply suggesting it was a "penny wise, pound foolish" solution. But, in the interest of investigation, I purchased (too many) cannulas from Amazon, following a link recommended in the...

Sustainer engine run by
Jonathan St. Cloud
Just curious, how long are the guys with solo 2350 sustainer engines running their engines before they depart on XC flights? I have been running the engine for about 30 seconds but I have no idea how long it should to run to be fully lub'ed and kept in good running condition.

Tracking gliders via Google Maps app by
Chris Snyder
Google Maps released a relatively new feature called "Share location". It allows you to share your location with another person for a set amount of time. We successfully used this to track our XC guys this past weekend (OLC -
