A Talking Airspeed Indicator by
Soartech
Last year I was looking for such a device to allow me to montitor my speed more easily on approach so I didn't have to glance at the panel during this critical stage of flight. I found this affordable, small box that plumbs into your pitot line and runs on 12V. It is made in England. I only turn it...

Hello folks,
My PIK-20B bags need replacing. Does anyone have suitable bags for sale?
- I am considering manufacture and have contacted Guy Achard / Airsolid. Are there any other fabricators?
- The 20B is allowed to carry 140 Liters, but the bag drawing on trafi.fi show a bag labeled 60L. Why...

Ugh. Flight trace didn't download off FLARM brick by
Kurt Thams
After a sweet flight, I get home to discover that the flight trace did not copy onto the USB stick.
Do I need to bring a computer with me to the airport to check each time before I leave the glider that the trace made it?

Micro-wind energy by
Stephen Michalik[_2_]
Saw this on the OZ report... seem applicable to gliders!
http://www.designfax.net/cms/dfx/opens/article-view-dfx.php?nid=4&bid=315&et=featurearticle&pn=03
I could see a pilot throw a line out with 50 of these on/inside a flying tube that recharges a battery in 10 or 15 minutes. Reel the line...

Performance loss versus yaw string deflection by
Eric Greenwell
I don't recall ever seeing an estimate of the performance loss in a
glider as a function of yaw string deflection. Does anyone know what it is?
Ultimately, I'm wondering how much attention should be paid to
deflections of, say, 1/8", 1/4", 1/2", etc., on the usual 4"-5" long yaw
string.
I...

Ground Launch Endorsement by
Kevin Christner
Any CFIG's within a days drive of Buffalo, NY willing to give a ground
launch endorsement. I've found an airport that will let me auto-
launch of their 5600 ft runway. This seems to be preferable to 2.5+
hr drives to reasonable glider clubs.

Two very fun students by
Bill Daniels
This week I had the pleasure to fly with a couple of freshly minted 2nd
Lt.'s from the US Air Force Academy class of 2006. They were converting
their glider time from the USAFA soaring program to civilian CFIG's.
To say this young lady and gentleman are "good sticks" would be an
understatement. ...
