Gliding and migraines? by K6Chris
Having suffered my first ever migraine last night and specifically the visual disturbance (aura) that came with it, I am keen to discover how gliders pilots who are prone to migraines cope? Although sufferers are allowed to drive and indeed fly, the advice for coping of 'pull over' seems less than...

Egress from 1-26 by KAIO
I'm thinking of buying a parachute for using in a 1-26. I was not able to find any instance of bailout from a 1-26 in the NTSB database. is is really possible, practicable, to egress a 1-26 in flight? Can the 1-26 canopy be ejected? I know that almost anyone who flies a 1-26 does so without...

DG-300 Oxygen Cylinder Size? by kammeyer
Hi All, I'm purchasing an oxygen system for my DG-300, and I'm not sure which cylinder to buy. Can any owners comment on whether the 5.25" cylinder works? My measurements indicate it will be tight but perhaps will work. Thanks! -Dave Kammeyer XLT

OLC Scoring by [email protected]
I did 216 mile out and returns on both Friday and Saturday; however, the OLC scored that as only a very small triangle. What gives? I see quite a few other flights that seem to have the same issue. Any way to correct this? ASW27BV

Zaino by [email protected]
Having just washed and waxed the car with Zaino, I am wondering if anyone has used it on their sailplane. The Zaino web site states that it is OK for fiberglass and gel coat. Any one used it? What results/problems? ASW27BV

Witnesses indicate two sailplanes in the same thermal. Anyone have pilot names or are these Alberta Soaring Council people? Some of them were just here with their new winch, visiting us in the Southwest US. WWW.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/story/2011/09/04/bc-glider-crash.html Karen

Would you rather fly a Sailplane? by Karen
Discussion from the paragliding forum. See: http://www.paraglidingforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=p307763 Seems to be a large group of very talented soaring people that the SSA and BGA doesn't reach well. Many of the boomers who started jumping off hills in the 1970's are getting tired of climbing the...

Tow hook max wt marking by Karen
Simple question, but why are tow hooks marked, "1200 lbs Max weight", like the Schweitzer type release, towing big heavy 21M ships, ships with water, Grobs and others over 1300 lb gross weights? Actual pulling weight? Is there an FAR? Thanks.
