Standard Cirrus 1973 (Grob) no water ballast by
Ian Simmonds
Hi all
I am now the owner of a lovely 1973 Grob built Standard Cirrus - a thing of beauty.
What intrigues me is that the the glider has no water ballast in the wings and looks as if it came straight from the factory like this. No connector in the wing root and nothing in the cockpit to indicate...

Standard Cirrus and Deturbulator Project by
OxAero[_2_]
1. The Standard Cirrus was not chosen for Deturbulator experiments. It
was what we had to work with. *That's all. *Turns out, the stability
of top surface reattachment point worked to our benefit.*
2. Since going my own way with this work, I have dismantled the parts
of the original configuration...

Standard Cirrus C-Hook by
Randy[_2_]
I purchased a Standard Cirrus with a bent C-Hook. This was bent when
the previous owner was putting the fuselage in the trailer. I ordered
a
new C-Hook from M&H Soaring and they sent me the new gray C-Hook
and as you can see, it is a different size.
Should I try to find another small one like the...

Standard Cirrus Life Extension by
juliet7
Hello All,
A quick question for all those Standard Cirrus owners out there. A
friend and I are looking at purchasing a glider, and a Standard Cirrus
fits our budget and performance requirements. The glider we are
looking at is in good shape; however, it is nearing the 3000 hour life
limit with...

Standard Cirrus PowerFLARM mount by
Tony[_5_]
On Sunday I saw 2 regional airliners and King Air inbound to Wichita. Has anyone come up with a PowerFLARM mounting solution for a Std. Cirrus that won't get me on the Hall of Shame? Not enough space on top of the glare shield to keep the antennas straight. Thanks!
Tony

standard cirrus stuff wanted by
shkdriver
Hey everyone,
I'm looking to improve my ground handling gear for a standard cirrus.
Does anybody have a really nice tail dolly, I could buy a new one from wings and wheels, but a very nice used one would be as good.
Also, I'm working on a disk brake mod that might or might not be approvable,
and...

Standard Cirrus Web Site Move by
Jim Hendrix
The Standard Cirrus web site has been moved to a new home. It now lives in
a folder at www.oxaero.com. It will take several days for the domain name
to catch up. Until then, www.standardcirrus.org will point to the old site,
or may not work at all for a day to so. Meanwhile, you can...

The Standard Cirrus web site will be temporarily offline while it switches

Standard Class / National Distance to Goal Record by

448.24mi
Fritz Seger
8/29/1987
Not to diminish Fritz Seger's fantastic flight but, I would have
thought this record would have been surpassed on some of the ridges in
the east by now. Is going for this record unappealing to a lot of
pilots?

Standard Class Nationals by
Sam Giltner
20 years ago there was a waiting list to fly National
contests. Could it be that nationals today are really
designed for a small number of pilots that like 'extreme
competition', long task, long hours, new types of tasks,
no crews etc. 20 years ago nationals seemed to be designed
for a broader...

Standard Jantar 48-3 & One-Man Assembly by
John[_27_]
I am considering a one-man to assist in the assembly - I figure it
will work but since the wings are a bit bigger than other gliders I
assist with assembly, I'm curious if other jantar-drivers use a one-
man and comments on how it works if they do.
Thanks in advance,
John

Standard Jantar wheel brake assembly by
[email protected]
Does any have, or could anyone take a picture of the port side of of the main wheel on a Standard Jantar 41A? I’m having a heck of a time figuring out the trick to get it back together and adjusted correctly.
Thanks!
