Parowan 2nd Contest Day 6-21 by

This day, will be remembered by many. Charlie and the advisors just let
everyone call thier first turn as all classes got a MAT of 3 hrs. The sky was
covered with high clouds, but X reported 11 thousand so launch was started.

I think we have about 25 or so in both the Standard and 15 Meter Classes. Well,
we had 12 landouts coming out of Big Springs, I think 7 were at the Maybe
Ranch. Everyone is accounted for , thats good news. I saw 3 that made it around

We had a 10 am brief pilots meeting and a MAT of 1.5 hrs was called for all
three classes. The task distance was from 65 miles for Sports to 100 miles for
Standards and 125 miles for 15 meter. Out towards the west rode them very high

Today more trailers rolled in. Some choose to rig and go fly. The blipmaps
showed it better than it was in the local area. I launched around 2 pm and
climb was slow. Almost got splashed with a full load of water but got back up.
At 10 thou headed SW towards some higher and better looking clouds....

Some build ups, so, like whats the problem man. Like none, 7V blew the doors
off in Standard at 93 mph. KS ran around 90 mph in Sports. Then comes P7, like
98 mph in 15 Meter. The weather did have bumpers in all areas. Standards had a
AST, 15 Meters changed to a 1 turn MAT with a 3 hour window....

Practice day speeds ran from high 70's for standard, with MM winning the day. I
don't recall the winner for sports, but it was in the mid 70's. The high 80"s
was the winning speed for 15 Meter, and you only get one guess as to who.
